Slowly, slowly my to do list is getting shorter. What a relief!

And my days are once again starting like this… a warm blanket, kitten little at my side purring and eventually snoring, a podcast playing and a needle in my hand.

This piece, stitched by F. Racette of Three Rivers (Trois-Rivières), Québec has been my focus piece for the last few days and I am quickly closing in on a finish.

I have to admit, I am tired of framing pieces.

I want more creative finishes. I want to use and develop more of my skills. So, I have been thinking all summer about how to do that.

I kind of blew my stash budget last week with @allaboutewewoolshop buying 1 pound wool grab bags. I won’t admit to how many, but a lot is enroute to me via Canada Post and they should arrive by Friday. Right on time for me to start working on finishing this piece. So, I’m thinking that wool should be part of a finish for this piece.

Anywho, lots to do today.

I ran the roads yesterday and came home to make a pot of Bacon Corn Chowder using a soup mix from @mitchellssoupco so that I can get down to some serious work today. I will make a batch of buttermilk tea biscuits to go with that scrummy soup, but otherwise, this girl is moving toward her goals for the winter.

Back to the soup mixes for a second. A friend, @browskyshirley invited me over for lunch and served me her homemade sour dough bread and chicken soup. She shared her secret, a soup mix by Mitchell Soup Co. so, I went home and ordered six different kinds! I don’t know about you, but when I make soup, I always make too much and it takes forever. This didn’t. I am not being paid to promote Mitchell, just love sharing when I find something I love. Anywho.. soup season is here!

Fall is here and I couldn’t be happier. I can’t imagine a world without Octobers! 🍁🍂🍁
