Four years, and only one show left at my favorite venue before wrapping up my Indiana chapter and moving to PA.

I started as Event Staff / Security back when it was TCU Amphitheater, the summer after my freshman year (2nd pic is day one!). As a huge music lover, getting paid to see live shows felt too good to be true. I always tell people this job is the best way to catch artists you love—and discover new genres you’d never expect.

Last season, I got promoted to Production Runner—a role I’d eyed since day one. That meant 15-hour days running errands for touring artists, driving crew, surviving endless Indy construction, eating free catering whenever possible, and loving every second of the unpredictable thrill.

This venue hasn’t just shaped who I am; it’s been the backdrop for major life milestones. My fiancée and I worked shows together here early on (Noah Kahan, 311, and more), and this past June, I proposed to her right on site (captured by the venue photographer! @shotsbywaldo ).

I’ll miss so much about this place: the incredible crew across every department, feeding our resident domesticated squirrel, driving self-driving vehicles way nicer than mine, hearing my PM exclaim, “Zack, read the room!”, and that feeling of pure passion in the air that rivals my childhood community theater days.

Super excited to take these skills to future film sets and new venues in Pittsburgh.

✨ ERYKAH BADU UNDER THE STARS ✨

One thing I was NOT prepared for was how much I would enjoy the STYLE of the Badu fans. 😍

The layers. The bangles. The crystals. The beaded necklaces. The scarves. The baggy, flowy silhouettes. The Moon Child–inspired fits. Everybody looked like they understood the assignment without anybody ever having to say what the assignment was. 🌙✨

It took me straight back to a ’90s memory — that earthy, soulful, free kind of energy that made me feel so much joy.

Picture it: under the stars, a cool breeze moving through the crowd, the scent of coconut oil and Egyptian musk incense in the air, and thousands of people dressed like somebody’s beautiful, eclectic cousins at the BEST family reunion ever. 😂🤎

And then “Call Tyrone” came on…

Baby, we ALL became the background singers. 😂🎶 One big voice, singing it in unison like we had rehearsed before we got there!

That moment closed the night out perfectly for me.

And of course, I had to bring my own little Badu-inspired energy with what I wore. ✨🌙

Good music. Beautiful people. Nostalgia. Culture. Style. Energy.

It felt like a family reunion under the stars. 🤎
