JOIN US AT THE BUREAU FOR A LUNCHTIME BITE Start your week with us in the Bureau for our new series, Bureau Bites. These informal, 45min online gatherings are open to all, whether you’re a postgraduate student, a heritage manager or a senior consultant. Keep an eye on our LinkedIn account (link in bio) where we’ll post a link to a short text (30 min read) the week before we meet. We understand how dynamic, energetic and enterprising (ie busy) we all are so please join the conversation even you haven’t been able to make time to read and reflect in advance. Readings will be a mix of websites, blogs, reports, excerpts from academic papers.  The aim is to reconnect us with our communities of practice and to create space for the kind of thinking we might not be able to do on the daily grind. We invite participants to start a light-touch reflective journal to help document these conversations, which you may find useful in your work. ✨Monday, 12 October: Does heritage really matter?  ✨Monday, 9 November: When loss is more!  ✨Monday, 7 December: Beyond engagement? Art, heritage and placemaking ✨Monday, 11 January: Strategies, frameworks and plans – why have them?  ✨Monday, 8 February: Nothing ages faster than the future  ✨Monday, 8 March: Place, landscape and more-than-human interventions ✨Monday, 5 April: ‘No, I don’t want to do workshops with NEETs!’ Beyond instrumentalising heritage ✨Monday, 10 May: Not another toolkit! Working with creative approaches to unblock cross-sector heritage research, management and policy  These gatherings also mark the start of ButCH’s journey towards being a business partnership and soft launch of our redesigned website (still in progress) ✨ LINKS IN BIO @everydayelvis @37looestreet

BATHING PLACES: WATER WORLDS 8pm 26 Sept Plymouth Arts Cinema @plymartscinema In association with our Bathing Places exhibition (37 Looe Street gallery, open Thursday-Saturday 11-5 until 26th September), this special screening at Plymouth Arts Cinema includes all the artists’ films shown as part of the exhibition, as well as a first screening of Geography of an Archive by Vesna Lukic and Nicole Khayat, whose painting and archival works evoking Khayat Beach in Palestine are included in the exhibition.  These films reflect a spectrum of watery worlds and bodies in bodies of water. Artists connect. In these films, the waters of other seas lap onto the shores of the Sound, bathers from other beaches visit. Water finds its way and we are reminded of our place on a planet. 71% of the Earth’s surface is water-covered and yet pollution, war, climate change imperil so much of that resource. Bathing is an act of immersion. Becoming part of another element. An eternal act yet one not to be taken for granted. In these films, the liquid treasure of these spaces and beings is vividly and variously represented. Head on over to @plymartscinema to book your tickets. And while you’re there, consider getting a membership to the cinema to keep your cosy this winter! Programme running time: 90 mins Rachael Allain - Double Equinox, 2025, 5m @rachlouall Molly Burrows - Moving with the Sun, 2026, 0m13 @mollyburrowsart Laura Denning - Complicit, 2016, 2m; Liquid Song, 2015, 2m17 @lauradenning2 Bryony Gillard - Heatwave, 2025, 5m24 @bryonygillard Sadie Hennesey - The Parade, 2025, 5m16 @memphishennessy William Luz - A Line Made While Swimming, 2026, 5m02 @william__luz Vesna Lukic and Nicole Khayat - Geography of an Archive, 2026, 40m @nicole__khayat Sefryn Penrose & Angela Piccini - Forty Suit/e, 2017/2026, 14m @everydayelvis @aapiccini
