So much power in COMMUNITY! ✊

Huge thanks to the @everydaywigan dream team @emxrobson @olivietab and awesome volunteer @kylietextiles plus our friends at @benandjerrysuk and @hopenothate there was SO much joy, creativity, and pride in place on show today at the Room for Dreaming! 👏👏👏

Pride in place and a sense of belonging stems from a feeling of community, and it really does take a village to create it, so this FREE hyperlocal craftivism workshop to make a collaborative community quilt focussed on what our community love about Wigan, what makes them proud to be from here, and what their hopes for this place are in these often divided times. 🫶

And it certainly helped that they all got a cheeky taste of B&J’s new ‘Love Nut Hate’ flavour too! 🍦

My ‘patch of power’ for the community quilt is on the last image and embodies my hope for people to stop with all the fear and misinformation and instead lead with Curiosity; Empathy; and Solidarity! 🪡✨

Huge thanks to the whole team for making this glorious day possible. 🙌

Something creative is popping up in the old Thorntons unit in Makinson Arcade this Saturday! 👀

In partnership with Wigan Museum, Everyday and Down to Earth, Room for Dreaming is transforming this space into a place to imagine, make and play.

Join the Everyday team between 11am and 3pm to come help fettle the Patches of Power Community Quilt workshop!

And there’s even more reason to come along... thanks to a collaboration with Ben & Jerry’s, you’ll be able to enjoy some free ice cream while you’re there.

So bring your creativity and save a little room in your stomach too! 🍦✨

No booking needed, just drop in and get involved.

I was SO excited to hear about @carriereichardt’s project in Ashton-in-Makerfield after seeing her incredible ceramic mural in St Helens a couple of years ago!

What made it even more special was finding out it was being delivered by @everydaywigan and I knew this time around I had to get the kids involved!

For the past few days we’ve been driving past and watching the amazing team bring the artwork to life in the town centre, so it’s such a lovely feeling to now see our little tiles up there amongst the incredible artwork.

And it gets even better… not only are our tiles up there, but I shared the project in the school ‘mum chat’ and some of Edith’s friends have their designs up there too!

Something they can spot, talk about and share together for many years to come.

What an amazing opportunity for our children and our community to be part of something so special. Thank you @carriereichardt and @everydaywigan for making it happen!

It was another fantastic Pride in Wigan on the 8th August 🌈🥳 _ the weather was glorious and the atmosphere filled with happiness.
Prior to the Parade I delivered a drop workshop @wigan_libraries so that the community could add some further Artwork to the banner that was started last year with @mitchell1304 and @hildahemingwaycreates.
We created symbols of positivity and I added them to the updated 2026 banner! Thank you @everydaywigan for the grant that made it possible for the workshop and banner of positive affirmations to continue! 🌈🥳💖

What a lovely day at @wiganpride ! 🏳️‍🌈

I was commissioned by @everydaywigan and @wigancouncil to create a one-page zine all about Wigan Pride, the history of queer folk in Wigan, and the queer spaces in Wigan nowadays. This was distributed for free at Wigan pride - Did you find one? ✨
