Here’s a look at Night 3 of Camp Serif: Zine Build! The final night of Camp Serif’s first event.

Bridging the first two nights together, campers assembled their analog and digital imagery into an 8 or 16 paged zine. Each page was printed, cut and hand assembled then scanned for final documentation.

We’re so proud of the work everybody produced and excited to share what they created. More on that, soon.

Here’s a peek into what we’ve been putting together for camp. Every camper will receive their own CAMPERS GUIDE–a resource created to take you through each stage of the Image-Making Intensive filled with prompts, exercises and space to document your process along the way.

A limited run of Camp Serif merchandise will also be available exclusively at the workshop for those who want to take a little piece of camp home with them.

See you at camp!

On Saturday, visitors got the first taste of “Fear of Knowing” by James March [ @everylastoneofus ] & Alana Kailass [ @incorgem ]—a small portion of a larger installation (set to be released soon) exhibited exclusively at the 01 Picture This Launch. We pushed the possibilities of “Fear of Knowing” and transformed it into an experimental interactive installation where visitors were prompted to express subtle or blaring fears that circulate in their lives. Here are a few fears expressed by those who chose to share.

Unidentified Big Cat Sightings in Newfoundland By James March

”Big cat sightings in Newfoundland, Canada have been reported for decades, with sightings of cougars, panthers, and other large felines being reported across the province. While some sightings have been confirmed through photographic and video evidence, many remain unverified and are the subject of much debate and speculation among local residents and wildlife experts.

Unidentified Big Cat Sighting in Newfoundland is a chapbook that examines material evidence of these elusive animals, forming a basis for further contemplation on their presence on the island. The book is a collection of prose, interviews, and screenshots, largely gathered from secondary sources.”

I'll have the last few copies of Deep State by @jamesdavidmarch available @expozinemtl tomorrow. Get it while you still can!

“Deep State is a chapbook that explores the development of conspiratorial thinking during the COVID-19 pandemic. The book is a collection of prose, interviews, and screenshots of conspiracy-related discourse, largely fostered through Internet forum culture.”

did a zine collab with @everylastoneofus (^:

On the Frontier of Humanness attempts to answer the age old question “What does it mean to be human?” through a beloved human-verifying device: CAPTCHA. As AI becomes smarter, CAPTCHAs become harder, and bots are increasingly better than us at basic math, what can we cling to in order to tell us we’re really human? (spoiler: for me, it’s Robert Pattinson)

Printed on riso by the wonderful @nothingnewprojects and available at @zine___dream this Saturday Aug 17. I’ll also have a few copies so dm if interested (^:
