Rereading Alan Moore’s SWAMP THING got my imagination tingling especially by the final issue when Abby and Swamp Thing embrace their relationship. That issue and the cover alone, is a true gem and a perfect example of how comics can be transcendent.

MUJINA is an excellent series with a great concept, phenomenal art and engaging character development. Apparently @asano_inio is putting the series on hiatus for reasons I won’t go into here. That’s a major bummer, but I’m really looking forward to Vol 5.

Shoutout @porkchopexp55 and @rat.race.comics for their series OF THUNDER. I especially love the connecting covers by @bublegumsr.

@ewokdrawscomics long anticipated BEEP BEEP BOXTRUCK! is absolutely bonkers! And the new pages he just shared with me are looking like he’s gonna keep topping it.

@deanhaspiel_art’s ANTIMATTER smashes multiple IP together and is full of his one of a kind wit and humor.

@jeremyhylerart dropped the super fun KUBRICK’S ODYSSEY and an ashcan of pencilled pages for VIRULENT his creator owned comic which I will definitely be taking to him about on my show.

FUSTUK by @robertapelian was a true delite! I’m happy I ran into him at @bicsbrooklyn otherwise I’m not sure I’d have come across this book.

I’m loving BATMAN DAYLIGHT, written by Matt Fraction with jaw droppingly amazing art by @jorge_jimenez_art.

BARRIER brings @briankvaughan & Marcos Martín back together again! Excellent! I was waiting patiently for this.

I saw @dereklaufman on @inkpulp and immediately bought a couple of his books. Definitely looking forward to getting more!

@ludo_lullabi’s GHOST PEPPER is killer! Just awesome!

@jaredcullum’s KODI made me cry. Book 2 is available for preorder. Jared’s doing some of the most gorgeous work in comics on KAITÓ 84.

Re-reading GUNDAM ORIGIN and it’s taking the cake. I’m in awe of how many characters are involved in the expertly paced sequences that play out perfectly and really breath. I’m loving the art for its deceiving simplicity and elegance. When NEON SPRING returns, the manga influence will be dialed all the way up and my love of GUNDAM will be a big part of that.

@austinackertart’s CARMINE SUNSHINE issues 1-6 is being collected in a trade paperback and you can get it now on his Kickstarter. This book has everything I love in it. Aliens, UFOs, Vampires, Chupacabras, Skinwalkers, inter-dimensional demons and great cartooning. We flipped through the books and talked about how we met in Arizona at @azcomicartsfest, T2, Alien movies, Predators and more! I got my copy of @adamlemna’s RELIC HUNTER 2 from @cosmiclionproductions! It’s an incredible honor to have my art featured on the inside front cover. I put a lot of heart into this piece. This sword and sorcery follow up to issue 1 set in New York 1984 is co-written by @xidbuythatforadollarx, features a back up story drawn by @bigtony308, a pinup gallery, featuring @austinackertart @beardy138 @dull_pen @therealdanielmoler @the_kevin_delgado @realkeithfinch @milo_trent_cartoonist @herron__art @rdmurphyart @tavarezart @steveacemcardle Tony Lorenz @tonywolfness @alpivictoralpi @therealintrovertedart and an absolutely phenomenal back cover by @chrisandersoncomics.

In the episode we flipped through issue 1 of RELIC HUNTER and were joined by Adam’s co-writer and friend @xidbuythatforadollarx and contributing pinup artist @mighty_peculiar. SKETCHBOOK 31 A.E. Flip through.
In this episode of @everythingandthekitchencinco I flip through my most recently completed sketchbook. In the last year, I had more commissions than any previous year. As a result of that, I was able to do a lot of sketch to the finish comparisons. Many of the commissioners were live in the chat, which made this very fun for me. Thank you for that! Also, a lot of Neon Spring ended up in the sketchbook. I usually like to keep Neon Spring in separate sketchbooks, but when an idea comes I like to capture it before it gets away.
If you check this out, I hope you enjoy it and get something out of it that you can use in your own life.
