National Small Business Week feels like the perfect time to talk about how powerful it is when local businesses, wellness, community, and creativity all come together in one space. 🤍

Had such a beautiful time attending “Mommies & Mocktails: Pilates in the Park” hosted by @bethesparkfit, an event that truly felt like a love letter to community, motherhood, wellness, and entrepreneurship in DC.

These are the kinds of spaces I love being in.

Spaces where women-owned businesses collaborate instead of compete.

Spaces where wellness and networking exist together.

Spaces where entrepreneurs use their gifts, platforms, and businesses to pour back into the community around them.

This wasn’t just Pilates in the park.

It was:
✨ supporting local moms + families
✨ spotlighting small businesses
✨ creating meaningful community
✨ prioritizing wellness together
✨ and using entrepreneurship to make real impact

The event partnered with @c3cares for the 6th Annual DC Citywide Baby Shower in collaboration with the Office of DC Paid Family Leave, where attendees brought donations like diapers, wipes, and onesies to support local families in need.

And the lineup of businesses involved? SO good:

🍸 Mocktails by @jassymixes
💐 Florals by @everythingbycamille
🩷 Pilates Princess merch by @oakpilatesclub + @bethespark
💪🏽 Resistance bands by @fittima_fitness

As someone building Career Toolkits by Dee at the intersection of entrepreneurship, content, community, and professional development, I’m always inspired by events like this that remind people there are so many ways to build impact through small business.

And during National Small Business Week, one of the best things you can do is continue showing up for the businesses, creators, and community spaces you believe in, whether that’s booking a service, sharing a post, attending an event, or simply telling a friend about them. That support matters more than people realize. 🌸

Celebrate Mother’s Day with movement, mocktails, and a mission! We are heading back to the mat for a very special Mommies & Mocktails: Pilates in the Park on Thursday, May 7th. This session is all about honoring the incredible mothers in our community while finding our flow together in the fresh air. Whether you are a mom yourself or want to celebrate the maternal figures in your life, this evening is designed to make your Mother’s Day season a little brighter and much more meaningful.

We are so excited to be partnering with @c3cares for the 6th Annual DC Citywide Baby Shower in collaboration with the Office of DC Paid Family Leave. Our goal is to show up in a big way for local families, and we’ve made it easy for you to help. For every donation of a baby shower item, think diapers, wipes, or onesies you will receive a refreshing, handcrafted mocktail courtesy of @jassymixes ! Plus, each donation serves as an entry for a chance to win a stunning Grand Bouquet to take home by @everythingbycamille .

To add even more beauty to the event, EverythingByCamille will be onsite with gorgeous floral arrangements. You can purchase a bouquet during the event or secure yours ahead of time to ensure you have the perfect Mother’s Day gift ready to go. There is nothing quite like the combination of a post-Pilates glow and fresh blooms!

Grab your mat, bring a donation for a family in need, and get ready for an evening of community and celebration. Let’s strengthen our bodies and our community at the same time. We can’t wait to see you on the mat while we give back! @does_dc @mayor_bowser
