CONCEPT TO REALITY… Load Bearing started out as a concept for submission to an open call from The Box in Plymouth. But after not being selected, the idea stayed at the front of my mind. So when @tedsmith_photography came along with his Tri-This contest, I entered the same idea. Being selected as one of the projects to be created on @kodak Tri-X 400 was super cool. Shooting on 120 film, in the studio, with off camera flash was a challenge for sure. Getting the metering and light placement just right, to get the look I wanted, without being able to check the back of the camera was nerve wracking. But I’m super happy with the results and a huge thank you to Ted for selecting this image as the 3rd place photograph and to the 4 amazing models who helped me, as well as Roger @studiohirepaignton My original concept sheet for the project, complete with camera and lighting notes and yes, AI generated concept images. Summer felt like it went on forever this year, but at least it meant getting to shoot outside a lot. I’ve really enjoyed experimenting with my half frame camera, which I took to this event hosted by @bunny.moonshine in Exeter. It still needs a little more work, but I am loving this format! With thanks to @bunny.moonshine @gigi_modelling @berryflap and @evilpixi3 #halfframecamera #filmphotographer #exetercreatives #summershooting #shootfilmstaybroke

Can you dig it? Apparently if you ask the right person on the right site nicely enough, yes you can! First shoot with the fabulous @evilpixi3 was so much fun, just wish I’d been allowed on the scaffold too 😂 #exeterphotographer #exetermodel #altmodel #exetercreatives #diggerbucket
