HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the original Pulaski Park local Ewald Munczenski , better known as Dickie! Who turns 52 today.
Antique King , will out sports bet you and one time DJ’d inside a mall for @thedcwheels demo so loud it echoed through the whole mall. He basically transferred our soundtrack from original records to vintage reels 💿 ! The rest is history !

Underachievers: pivotal time for me as I remember it. Several things were happening in my life at this time. Had finished high school, working at a deli, either taking the redline shady grove (metro) or driving with Dickie in his Dodge Dart. Pulaski park was the place that I figured out how to ride a skateboard. The day Dan filmed this clip was one of the first days we filmed together. Pulaski has a gravitas. And whenever I would skate there I would try to channel the great skaters I saw rip the park in videos. The greats like Sean Sheffy,Pep Martinez,Andy Stone,Scott Johnston,Chris Hall and also the rippers that might not have got the shine they deserved. The unknowns. The underachievers. Back to the stage. I can’t remember how many times I tried this. But I do remember how good it felt when I landed it.

When the blizzard of ‘96 hit we hit the road on tour to Florida. We left the day after X-Mas and was able to make it down there to celebrate by New Years. We stayed with people that we just met, including the owner of a convenient store we stopped in. RUSH album was heavily played on cassette in the car and Denny’s restaurant “party of four” was frequent. Seen here at a mall down there. Note: Chilly Willy the 🐧 penguin’s wound and Chris Hall’s hogan belt 😂. Stay tuned for the @r_e_e_s_e__f documentary 💥

January 1997, with the Thunder Boys on tour in an Orlando Florida Mall. @r_e_e_s_e__f bottom, @ewald22 middle, little bear @chris_hall_antiques top right. Mystery guest unknown. Band RUSH “Tom Sawyer” was on repeat on cassette in the Cadillac. We did air keyboard on the dashboard proper.

Thanks to the city of Gaithersburg for giving #thedcwheels 1st place three years in a row at their parade. The wheelers toughed it out for a non-stop demo at 90 degrees for 1.5 hours. Ride On !
