I’ve got feelings about not returning to the dust this year… a little bit of everything! I feel immense gratitude that I’ve been apart of @exothermiafire — to have gotten close with so many colorful, fun, and ALL LOVING individuals, that we’ve gotten to be apart of conclave and perform at the burn for now 5 years (4 or 5 total? Idk?!).

I feel sadness that Tam is no longer with us. But I feel her strong spirit everywhere, and I will be keeping her in my heart on playa specially whenever we do decide to return. I find that I ask myself, what would Tam do? The answer is another question.. what would tam NOT do? She lived so fearlessly. I learn from her everyday. I aim to live more like Tam.

I am hoping residents out west from the fires get the resources they need (if anyone knows of a family in need, please DM me and I’m happy to share with others ways we can help).

The burn makes me consider, how am I giving back, & balance that with filling my own cup? Much like real life, You get exhausted on playa some days, & very easily at that. It’s like survival, for sure. You have to plan to be completely self sufficient, but to also be apart of a community, of something larger than just you.

I also reflect on how describing this experience transcends words and actual vocabulary. There are memes making fun of people like us trying to describe burning man.. and it’s true! It me. Youd have to experience it for yourself, and if you can’t, open yourself up to those who have nuggets to share, which might be as simple as encountering someone who is committed to not “mooping” and leaving no trace, or someone who has acquired a love language of gifting. Some would argue that this “party in the desert” doesn’t hold space for conscious action, which just is not true. But I do return to answer the question, how can we… act more accordingly? How can we consciously show up for one another just a little bit more? How can we truly leave no trace unless that looks like leaving “love” behind? I’m not perfect, and I’ve needed more rest lately. I want to show up better, more consistently. And I accept that that’s going to look different every single day.

Happy to announce that moving forward, I am the new General Manager for @flame.festival 🔥

I will do my best to keep this brief. This is a big responsibility that I will not be taking lightly. 🧐

I am standing on the shoulders of giants, taking over the role from the legends Timbo Slice, Nick Garcia, and Ky Lee. 🫡

Big thank you to the @flowartsinstitute and the FLAME BOD for trusting me to take on this important role. It is an honor and a privilege. 🙏

I never would have made it here without support from the East Coast burn scene, @party_liberation_foundation , @exothermiafire , and the many homies I have made along the way. 🙇

That said, I'm gonna need help. Please join the team or apply to teach come November when applications drop. 🚁

Today we are remembering Tamara Eddy (Tam) 💔

The @party_liberation_foundation and @exothermiafire crew lost an incredibly bright light this past weekend. The impact that she has made in her community is clear through the outpouring of love and gratitude that we have seen these last few days.

Tam participated in the Richmond Ren Faire this year as well as the launch event this past March. We are grateful to have had the chance to experience that light as well as her support and involvement of our DIY scene. Our heart goes out to the local burn community and all of her friends and family at this time.
