What if you could meet your "mom friends" before the baby even arrives? This week we sit down with Georgia Kastaris and Monica Oslander, the founders behind Expecting Together a prenatal education and social club bringing the European model of built-in pregnancy community to the US.
Georgia discovered this concept while living in the UK, where matching expecting couples by due date and zip code is basically a rite of passage. Now she and Monica (a registered dietitian) are bringing it to Chicago and Miami pairing 8-12 couples going through pregnancy at the same time with real nurses and nurse practitioners, so families build their village before the chaos of a newborn hits.
We talk clinician-led education vs. Dr. TikTok, why partner inclusion matters, the loneliness epidemic among new parents, and what it's really like building a venture-backed startup while raising toddlers.
