DID YOU KNOW? THE STORY BEHIND JOS!

The growth of modern Jos is closely linked to tin mining, which expanded under British colonial rule in the early 20th century.

Mining attracted workers and traders and helped shape the city's development. Its legacy can still be seen in old mining areas and abandoned mine ponds across the Plateau.

But this history also raises important questions about land, resources and the communities affected by mining.

What other facts about Jos history should we explore next?
