What a response to our latest release!

I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported Local Abalone so far 🤝

The release is getting some well deserved love from some of our favourite DJs all over the world. A wicked release and I can’t wait to see what else these two have in store, definitely a name to keep an eye on.

Big love to the talented artists, and to all of you who stayed with us through sun and rain, from day to night. It’s the kind of energy that can’t be planned, only felt x

Shoutout to Hyphen Spaces and Sleepy’s for trusting us to transform the space into a secret afterparty full of little surprises.

Something bigger is on the way, we promise!

But before that… what does your love look like? 🩵🌀💻

Can’t help but move to their sound~ Presenting the artists shaping the day, from deep listening to infectious dancefloor energy.

This Saturday, Mar.28 @ Hyphen Spaces.

SOUNDS [A-Z]

[ Basscamp @bassc.amp ]
Luan & Jasa are the live and DJ duo behind Basscamp, known for their endless grooves and technical finesse. Their collaboration finds the sweet spot between Luan’s classic dance music sensibilities and Java’s eclectic musical approach.

With EPs ‘Technical Itch’ and ‘Hype / Whoops’, the pair have been making waves across Naarm and beyond. For Voyager 1, Luan steps in solo, representing Basscamp and crafting dancefloor magic.

[ Explicit Joy @explicit__joy ]

Explicit Joy is the DJ and production project of Naarm-based artist Liam, also the founder of Lny Design. A familiar presence on the club floor, he draws from a wide spectrum of energies and tones, with a soft spot for swing and groove. His sets balance emotion and rhythm with ease.

As a producer, Explicit Joy has released the EP ‘Body Admin’, the collaborative EP ‘MotionActivated’ with Al Dente on Neurocrank, and contributed to a VA on Unrestricted Purpose.

[ neko.ea @neko__ea ]
neko.ea is a multi-disciplinary Indonesian artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her work explores the abstract, experimental and the beautiful, blending Indonesia’s cultural heritage with an atonal, hauntological sound palette.

Her EP ‘Wujud/Lenyap’, created in collaboration with CTP through Ethereal Distribution, weaves Southeast Asian textures and spoken word with driving techno rhythms. Traversing deeper, hypnotic, and polyrhythmic realms of dance music, her work has established a distinctive sonic presence both locally and internationally.

Since emerging in Naarm around 2020, Activator - the duo of Jaevin and Clay - have built a strong presence across the city’s dancefloors, appearing at parties like Confide, Neurotiq Erotiq and Diega.

For Luminous this year they’ll be joined by close collaborator Explicit Joy for a special b3b session. A familiar face across parties like Mach 1 and Moniker, Explicit Joy brings his own playful energy into the mix.

Three artists, shared circles, and plenty of chemistry behind the decks.

There are no further steps to access this bar, however there are no bathrooms. There are two flights of 25-step stairs leading up the LV1, gender-neutral bathrooms and chillout area. Following another two flights of 25-step stairs is the club level. Unfortunately, aside from the staircase, there are no alternate ways of accessing all levels. If you need any assistance, security and staff are here to help.
