I’ve spent the past three days hiking around Cusco, completely immersed in nature, and although it has been physically challenging (the altitude, the hike, the 3am alarms) I’ve never felt more alive than at the peak of a mountain seeing the most beautiful colours while feeling my heart beating so fast.

The hikes I did:

🌈 Rainbow Mountain, the most challenging one as it sits at >5000m above sea level (there’s moto or horses option but please avoid animals exploitation 🙏🏻)
⛰️ Pallay Punchu, my absolute favourite, the colours were unreal and the hike is relative short although very steep
🗻Lake Humantay, quite challenging (horses are an option here too) but the lagoon is incredibly beautiful and thankfully they’re working hard to preserve it while allowing touristic visits

🤍I recommend going with a guide to learn more about the places.

🥾I have left everyday from Cusco, doing daily hikes but there are multi days options, the most recommended:

- Inca trail that gets you to Machu Picchu in 4 days
- Salcatay trail, also gets you to Machu Picchu, but definitely more challenging as it lasts more days and also gets you to Humantay
- The Ausangate Trek, the most spectacular and challenging high-altitude hiking circuit that circumnavigates the holy, snow-capped peak of Apu Ausangate

Lima, Peru is worth several days, so much to see here. Do not rush through Lima on your way to Machu Picchu. Lima had amazing weather, restaurants, historic center, wonderful balconies, restored mansions, archeological sites, museums, charming neighborhoods of Barranco. Will spend next week of posts from Peru!

I was honored to receive a kind invitation from His Excellency Alberto Alejandro Farje Orna, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the United Arab Emirates, coinciding with the celebration of 40 years of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Peru

During our meeting, we discussed the project I am working on in Peru and the film I will be producing to document the country’s diverse life, culture, nature, and heritage. The film will be more than just a tourism video; it will be a comprehensive visual story with a meaningful message, showcasing the beauty of Peru and its rich cultural and human heritage

I was delighted by their interest and enthusiasm to see the final results upon my return. I look forward to creating a project that does justice to Peru’s beauty and reflects my vision of capturing the lives of people and cities, documenting the details that give every place its unique spirit and identity

🇵🇪 Save this Peru travel guide for your next adventure!

From exploring the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu to wandering through Cusco, learning to cook traditional Peruvian food, and waking up to mountain views in the Sacred Valley, Peru was one of those trips that reminded me how much you can experience in just a few days.

A few things I’d plan ahead:
✈️ Give yourself time to adjust to the altitude in Cusco.

🏔️ Book Machu Picchu tickets and transportation in advance - I’m tlaking like 6 months out lol

🥾 Pack layers for changing temperatures and high-altitude adventures

🍽️ Try a local cooking class to experience Peruvian food beyond restaurants. I linked my EXACT tour in my bio under “Favorite Tours and Excursions”.

🏨 Spend at least one night in the Sacred Valley to enjoy the peaceful mountain scenery.

My all time favorite place to stay in the world right now is @mountainviewexperience. I cannot find the words to describe how amazing my stay was. Between the roaming llamas, private jacuzzi and remarkable customer service, you can wake up to views of the Andes and fall asleep with the galaxy above your own private cabin.

For free things to do, explore Cusco’s historic streets, visit San Blas, and check out Kusicancha Palace, which has offered free entry. Church admission and schedules can vary, so confirm current hours locally before you go.
