Thrilled to share that BANG! has been longlisted for @theartistprize 2026 in the Sculpture & Installation category 🎉

A huge thanks to the national curatorial panel for considering the work. To the 20 artists selected for the group show at @firstsitecolchester – can’t wait to see what we‘re all making right now.

Bang! Shelf

Forged in steel and charged with energy, Bang! captures the visceral instant of impact—an explosive meeting of forms, suspended in permanent tension. The asymmetric composition—one plane gently convex, the other slightly concave—suggests the silent reverberation of a shockwave, its force rippling outward in sculptural stillness.

Each surface is shaped by hand, preserving the raw material‘s innate imperfection and physicality. Subtle marks and irregularities echo the gestures of making, heightening the work’s elemental power.

More than a shelving unit, Bang! is a meditation on collision and consequence—a poetic record of disruption, where destruction finds new form in functionality. It speaks to a delicate balance between violence and beauty, structure and collapse.

“COLLISION”

This series celebrates the beauty of imperfection through handcrafted steel shelves, embodying a dual identity as both artefact and stage. Inspired by the raw energy of a collision, each piece offers a platform to honour cherished objects.

Designed for collectors, ’Collison‘ blends metal’s refined sophistication with nature’s untamed beauty, reflecting a global trend toward authentic design. Crafted with steel tubing, the horizontal planes balance form and function, elevating treasured possessions. Once in place the craftsmanship and object narratives merge in a quiet dialogue, resonating with today’s appreciation of the value of imperfection.

Enze’s project ‘COLLISION’ is a furniture collection crafted from hand-worked steel, inspired by the dynamic, organic moment of colliding. Designed for object collectors, this series blends refined metal elegance with natural beauty. The collection balances form and function, serving as both sculptural artefacts and practical stages for treasured possessions.
