Maybe the most spectacular way ever built to move through the mountains. The Bocchette Centrali is the most famous section of the Via delle Bocchette in the Brenta Dolomites — instead of climbing up, it traverses sideways along natural ledges, never dropping below 2,000 m and topping out near 2,800 m. Its most famous stretch narrows to barely half a metre with a sheer drop below and a steel cable to clip into. Not technically hard, but seriously exposed. There’s a path in the Dolomites where the ledge narrows to about half a metre 😳 The Bocchette Centrali is the most famous stretch of the Via delle Bocchette in the Brenta Dolomites, and it barely climbs at all: instead it runs sideways along natural ledges across sheer walls, never dropping below 2,000m. The famous Figari ledge is a narrow shelf with a steel cable and a very long drop. Finished in 1957 to link the mountain huts. Not technically hard, but relentlessly exposed. Via ferrata kit and helmet essential.
