To walk along the banks of the Gilão River at this hour is to step into a slow-turning gallery of light and reflection. Lisbon has a way of making you look up.
Painted ceilings, the iron Elevador de Santa Justa and Rua Augusta leading down to its arch.

Small tip: you can go up to a viewpoint at the top of the Arco da Rua Augusta and look out over Praça do Comércio.
