A new ritual: matcha, pup pampering, and time together. 🐾🍵

Our favorite part of Matcha & Massage was seeing this community come together—and all those relaxed pups soaking up the attention. If only they could return the massage. 😂

Thank you to everyone who joined us, our partners The Source, Crossed Paws Canine Massage, and Idoru Matcha, for helping make this morning possible.

Which massage technique did your pup love the most? Tell us below - we’d love to hear if you’ve tried it again at home.

This was one of those meetups I know I’m going to look back on and immediately burst out laughing 👻 😂

From my attempts to carry 500 things on the hike, the dogs deciding the sheet was the devil incarnate, to trying to coordinate pictures without cutting eye holes for us humans but giving them to the dogs…..I had the scissors 😂 genuinely can’t even ask myself what I was thinking because I wasn’t, I was laughing too hard. This was such a last minute decision that the sheets were bought 15 minutes before the meetup (thank you @karagracej5 so we had 3!). We came together to make it happen and it was just the best!

Thank you to all our October hikers including those who signed up and couldn’t make it! Every time a hike is posted and the signups start coming through it brings so much happiness to my heart and a huge smile to my face 🩵

I was asked today how many years I’ve been hosting meetups and I wasn’t exactly sure so I checked and my first @hikingdogsofinsta meetup was July 2022! To still be able to call that first group of hikers my friends, is something so so special, and is what makes these meetups so special! To all our hikers, thank you. I cant wait to see what our 5th year of hosting will bring!

It’s okay if
- you’re not constantly buying your pet treats, toys or new things! The dog community of social media seems to lean so heavily into over consumption
- you didn’t compete in a single thing with your pet and didn’t get a ribbon. It’s been almost two years since Porsche and I have competed 🥲 and while it makes me sad, it’s not a necessity
- you spent a lot of time on the couch or in bed! 🛌 Dogs sleep 10-12 hours a day. We love down time
- you didn’t hike as much as you wanted, or weren’t invented by a group, or didn’t have energy for a group activity. At the end of the day, it’s about you and your dog! Have fun in whatever capacity you have and relish in it.
- you smile too big 😁 honestly this is a good thing. Pure joy is contagious! So keep smiling
- didn’t go one any camping trips. That’s okay! Your dog still loves you.
- your pup is reactive or loud? It’s okay! It’s not your fault and dogs are allowed to have their moments too.
- your pup is silly 🤪 we love character over here!!
Social media can make it seem like we’re failing our pets when we’re not doing x, y or z. But having a safe home, food, love and the appropriate care is all your pet truly needs to love you endlessly. Don’t beat yourself up 🫂

Took a trip to Denver to celebrate the 50th anniversary of @kongcompany ! There were so many pups and we even got to see some wonderful individuals off IG!🥹

Hopefully we can come out to more events like this!

Should we have bought the hat?👀
