For our June #LouisvilleFoodieMeetup, Kyushu Japanese Steakhouse welcomed our crew and treated us absolutely amazingly! 🥹🔥🍣 If you haven’t been to this spot on Hurstbourne Parkway yet, you are missing out on some of the best hospitality (and eats!) in town. Between the incredible specialty sushi rolls, the soju shots, and our chef’s top-tier hibachi show, the entire night was a 10/10. They even surprised us with an exclusive sneak peek of the premium Wagyu beef they’ll be adding to the menu soon, and let me tell you.... it completely melts in your mouth! 🤤 (Also, shoutout to everyone who successfully caught the hibachi food in their mouth. I didn’t even attempt it because I already knew my coordination could never! 🤣) Whether you’re planning a fun date night, a birthday celebration, or just craving a mountain of yakisoba noodles and perfectly seared steak, Kyushu delivers. Drop a 🥢 in the comments if you’re a hibachi fan, and tag your favorite dining crew who needs to go here with you! 👇 📍 Kyushu Japanese Steakhouse @kyushu.louisville 🗺️ 1850 S Hurstbourne Pkwy, Louisville, KY

To say that I was overwhelmed by love tonight is an understatement!🥰 There are people I missed getting pictures with because they stopped in or left early but we got a few group photos of most of us and I snagged a few selfies, but I was mostly just caught up in all the beautiful little moments. My birthday dinner was an absolutely incredible evening and point of special connection! I also cannot believe the amazing, thoughtful and creative gifts my friends gave me. Many of them handmade me special gifts or got me things I can create with, pampering gifts, lots of strawberry things and everything from fresh herbs and flowers to homemade jam, as well as several meaningful gifts from special friends! We even had a visit from a belly dancer who turned out to be the former student of a dear friend that couldn't be there!! I will truly cherish this evening, thank you to all who came and all those who wanted to as well. I'm also excited that Shannon got to meet several of my friends! I love you guys!! 🍓💚 Steffi

Last weekend we gathered together to honor the Sun’s journey from Winter Solstice to Summer Solstice and honored the longest stretch of daylight by reflecting on our gratitudes and challenges, releasing those things we had identified that no longer serve us, and setting intentions that will ripple into our lives and the universe. • We did this through a collective ceremony of cacao and talking circle, a celebration and dance journey, yoga nidra and sound journey, and a collective ceremony of intention and prayer. • We notice and honor these solar cycles on our journey through the year in order to build relationships with each other, Earth, Sun, and within our own selves. • These ceremonies are more than dates on a calendar, or workshops, they are ways of noticing our world and the energies rising and falling on this planet. • These ceremonies acknowledge the ways these surges and ebbs of energies affect the plants and animals, as well as our own lives. • We are remembering our interconnection with the web of life. We are re-membering and syncing ourselves to the never ending flow of source, and maybe discovering some things about where and how each of us sources energy from and with our environment. • We are re-knitting our relationships with Earth, Sky, and each other. • I’m grateful to the community who gathered with Rachelle and myself to practice weaving ourselves back into the web of our interconnectedness with all things through ceremony, ritual, celebration, prayer, and intention. 💗🙏🏽🌞 • We thank you Spirits of the East for bringing your medicine of vision. We release you. • We thank you Spirits of the South for bringing forth your medicine of transformation. We release you. • We thank you Spirits of the West for teaching us your medicine of patience. We release you. • We thank you Spirits of the North for teaching us your medicine of wisdom. We release you. • We thank you Mama Earth, Father Sky, and our hearts, the portals to love and oneness for forever guiding us home to walking in beauty. • Thank you to @exploringwithmelanie for the beautiful captures of our time together. 📸 • #summersolstice #ceremony #universe #community #remembering

Come try chef Ziba special, Peanut Butter Chicken 😋! Our own creation inspired by Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 Burkina Faso Peanut Butter stew, known locally as mafe or tigadegue-na, is a rich, savory, and slightly spicy West African stew. It is traditionally made with meat (like beef or chicken) simmered with a blend of tomato paste, natural peanut butter, and hearty vegetables, and served over white rice! Quality guaranteed! 👌🏾 Come visit us @loganstreetmarket and enjoy chef Ziba other fusion dishes at @zibasbistrous 💡pair this with our house made hibiscus tea, a soda or a drink at the bar and enjoy the weekend! #cheflife #louisvilleky #foodofinstagram #peanutbutter #recipe

Today is her official birthday.. so happy birthday to my dear friend Melanie!! We have so many memories and even way more than are posted here but I tried to get all the big ones in! Who knew that randomly meeting you at a girls potluck through a former neighbor in my old apartment would turn into such a meaningful friendship! I'm so glad it did!! Here's the poem I wrote for her and read at her birthday party this year! Love you so much Mel! "It's melanie's birthday party today And I tried to think of just the perfect way To tell her all the things I think she ought to know That even in the darkness of life she still gives off a glow She loves so many things that have this essence too From the brightness of a sunflower to the flame of a hot air balloon Paper lanterns dancing in the sky Expressing grief and her wonderment at why Laughter yoga bursting through the room Overcoming sorrow and letting joy bloom Like a disco ball spinning from the ceiling She is full of adventures on her journey into feelings I saw a piece of me in Melanie And I think that's why we love people, because in them we see A mirror of our own souls reflected back with grace For we often struggle to be just as kind to our own face Melanie reminds me every day to keep on going She never gives up and makes such an impact, without even knowing Happy birthday to my fun tiger friend I hope our random adventures never really end Like the labyrinth you love so much May joy circle back to you and may you always know you're enough" - Steffi

Sometimes you just need a lazy self care day! Grateful for a call with Paige about my goals, lunch at a healthy café and swimming with Melanie, at her gym. Then we finished the day with a walk in the sunshine (at Arthur K Draut park) where we stumbled on some beautiful wisteria vines, took a short trip down to the creek, and now ending the evening at one of our favs Queen of Sheba for some Ethiopian!
