Better late than never! We had an incredible time at EYC ’25. Already counting down until we’re all back together again—only 352 days to go.

From blazing heat to brutal cold and even a very rude fire alarm, every moment was worth it to reignite our passion for God! EYC 2025 reminded us why our passion for God is worth waking up for, no matter the circumstances! Huge thanks to Mrs. Gail Williams and the @expocamp board for their dedication and heart to this event. Between the sessions, challenges, and legendary atrium singing, our wonder was fully reawakened. Onward to EYC 2026.

EYC 2025 was such a blessing. This year our youth started as friends and truly became a family. We’re crazy, loud, and loving, and I wouldn’t trade a single one of the memories I made with each and every one of you for the world. These memories we’ve made will last with me for so many years to come. I’m so blessed that God put every single one of them in my life. ✝️🤍🩷

I nervously hit send on a draft of a project that had lived, half-formed, in my head for months. I would circle back to it randomly, never quite sure how to express the idea in a way that felt engaging or honest within roughly three minutes.

Then one night, the direction finally clicked. I wrote the script in one sitting. The words flowed easily, which told me there was something there. Still, I was not sure how it would land.

The response I received afterward did not just validate the concept. It reminded me that this feeling is something many of us carry:

“When you were talking about being a kid and looking through things with wonder and awe but life got in the way, that is exactly how I felt when I rediscovered the ability to imagine and wonder again three years ago. Your description took me right back there. Every adult should shed a tear listening to that once everything comes together. Because I lived in that hole for nearly 30 years.”

Saturday night, as more than 3,200 people gathered for packed days of worship, classes, and connection, this project helped set the tone. I have been creating openers for this event for several years now, but this one felt different. It felt more personal and more timely.

The theme of Reawaken Wonder speaks deeply into where so many people find themselves today, and it took shape in a meaningful way last night. Students filled the front of the convention hall, asking for prayer, caring for one another, and expressing a desire to strengthen their relationship with God. It was a quiet reminder that God is still at work in the lives of those who are willing to show up and seek Him.

EYC is one of my favorite events to be part of each year. There are countless reasons why, but chief among them is witnessing the impact it has on the lives of those who attend.

Special thanks to @harrisiii
When this idea was still floating around in my head, I revisited his book, The Wonder Switch, and it became a major catalyst in shaping this project. I deeply respect Harris, and the work he and @katemharris do continues to bring light into my life and challenge me to do what I do with greater intention and care.
