WIP: The Photographer and the Poet

@eyemjonarthur and @_leahblaine_ have known each other since their single digits in their desert hometown of Lancaster, California. They've been friends, crushes, pen pals, and now collaborators as she crafts words to his images. Some pieces of their current work in progress.

**********

I've adored working with his photography and have amassed quite the collection of tiny poems owing to his amazing talent (he will take these from me excitedly sending words into the ether to something tangible very soon!).

This first poem is for, about, and to him.

As I walk through these streets of LONDON. I keep reflecting on, 1. I was once homeless and I’m here in London. 2. How more kids from the same block think pass their own environment?

It’s not often black kids from the same hood I grew up in has the thought or dream of stepping out of their country because of a “Passionate Hobby”. I definitely want to be that example that young black girls and boys can say to themselves they were encouraged to BELIEVE you can adventure out of your own environment. #grandassagallery #filmphotography #londonphotographers
