POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What began as a birthday portrait session became something much larger.
While editing the footage, Bobby Coyote realized he was documenting something he felt was being erased. That realization became We Fucking Exist, an evolving archive of trans and nonbinary lives.
In QCH Nº 002, Bobby talks about the upheaval that reshaped his creative life and why this project now feels like a life’s work.

Come get upside down and spin with me at my Imanari roll seminar in two weeks - Sunday, Sept 13th at @10thplanetcovina. This is a donation based seminar, so put it on your calendar and let’s pack the gym out to learn how to do one of the craziest looking leg lock entries there is.

Imagine a class where each student creates their own training curriculum.

Imagine a class where each individual is developing a skill set specifically tailored for them.

A typical Jiu Jitsu class is usually warm up, listen to coach explain a move, drill that same move with the whole class, then jump into rolling.

That structure has value, but every student is on their own journey.

Different experience levels, body types, goals, learning styles, and personalities all require different training methods to optimize time on the mat.

That is the idea behind Workshop Class.

We start by identifying each person’s Jiu Jitsu goals and the skills they need to improve. From there, students discuss, review film or examples, drill, add resistance through live drills and ecological games, then review and adjust.

Each student also uses a Workshop Focus Packet, which acts like a training journal to track results, analyze performance, and build better training sessions in the future.

Phone usage is encouraged. Students can use YouTube, instructionals, and video examples to study and emulate techniques with their partner.

I’m not trying to replace traditional class or reinvent the wheel.

I just think there is a better way to learn, and we can all take a more intentional approach to skill development.

I’ll be implementing this class structure on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 10P Covina.

Available for beginners and advanced students. You’re all invited!

Comment “workshop” and I’ll DM you more info.

BLOOPER ALERT 😂🎬

We headed to 10th Planet in Covina to steam clean their mats and thought we were filming a simple video...

What I DIDN'T know was that Brandon was secretly recording all the bloopers! 🤦‍♂️🤣

After what felt like 100 takes, countless mess-ups, forgotten lines, random laughs, and Brandon yelling "CUT!" every few seconds, we finally got the shot.

Sometimes the outtakes are better than the actual video. 😆

Big thanks to 10th Planet for having us out. The mats got cleaned, the video got done, and now you get to enjoy the chaos behind the scenes!
