My non-negotiables : Morning Gua Sha

Does it keep my jawline sharp and cheeks chiseled, yes but only due to the lymphatic drainage.

Other areas I Gua Sha : the rest of my face, chest, and neck and repeat each movement 10xs which causes my routine to be 15-20 minutes…. but I spared you.

I also make sure to only do it after I moisturize + apply my Day-to-Day oil (oil is a sealant not a moisturizer).

Zoom in. Repeat after me. REAL SKIN HAS TEXTURE NO MATTER HOW HEALTHY IT IS.
I’m wearing a slight amount of makeup. But you can see pores, texture, the light spot birthmark above my lip, etc. This what real, unfiltered, unphotoshopped skin looks like.

When the skin is extremely hydrated, the water molecules, along with the plumped stratum corneum bounces light back, giving the “glass skin” illusion. “Golden Hour” selfies also give the illusion of perfect skin, because the warm light overblows imperfections.
I’m anti-filters for a lot of reasons but mostly because I truly love natural faces & believe in enhancing natural beauty. I also think they distort our perception of ourselves and cause dysmorphia but that’s a rant for another day.

Anyway, Juneteenth, August 1st and August 6th are the only days of freedom I celebrate, so I’ll probably just chill around the house today. ✊🏾🖤🇯🇲
