@girlsgonehikingnyc: out-of-the-city hikes
Apex Pedestrian: in-the-city-walks

Where we meet in the middle: 9-mile urban hike up the West side of upper Manhattan.

Obviously it’s not the same as a real hike, but ~urban hiking~ comes with some very sweet perks like:

1.) stopping at as many third wave coffee shops/bakeries as your heart desires, and
2.) an easy subway commute home when you’re done.

80% of this route is in parks or greenways.

We started in central park, then walked through: Morningside Park, Sakura Park, the Hudson Greenway, Fort Tryon Park, and Inwood Hill Park.

Manhattan has so many cool pockets and if you want to escape the sky scrapers and crowds, this route is for you. Most people I meet haven’t gone this far uptown.
