Rastaman playing Rasta music in Goa Market 🇮🇳🪷🇯🇲

-

Check the vibes from when @ezekiahrose brought his Guitar to the Mapusa Market in Goa to play some Rasta Reggae Music for the people working there 🇯🇲

What a vibe when Jamaica meets India 🇮🇳🙏🇯🇲

This was the first time Ezekiah travelled outside of Jamaica and he directly came to Goa (after a 60 hours flight 🥶).

-

Jamaica and Goa is two very different places, different people, culture, music and more - but there are also some similarities between the two places!

There is alot of connection between India and Jamaica and i highly recommend you to check it out 🎶

“The first Rasta (according to many) Leonard Howell: “There is even evidence connecting Howell personally to Indian culture. The Institute of Jamaica material says Howell grew up around a significant Indian population and was thought to have been influenced by them. It specifically describes him adopting the title Ganganguru Maragh, a Hindu-derived title.”

“The National Library of Jamaica explicitly identifies curried dishes as part of the Indian contribution to Jamaican heritage. It also identifies rice as an Indian-origin influence in Jamaican cuisine”

“Indian indentured workers brought cannabis culture and the word “ganja” to Jamaica in the 19th century. A historical report from the U.S. Office of Justice Programs states that cannabis was brought to Jamaica in 1845 by indentured labourers from India, who called it ganja.

But cannabis itself was not necessarily unknown in Jamaica before Indians arrived. Research indicates marijuana may have already grown on the island, while Indian migration helped introduce or strengthen particular uses, terminology and ritual associations”

10000 Lions Sound System Session on 🔥🔥🔥

-

Thank you so much @spacesafari.be for the wonderful and amazing energy on Sunday 🏆

Last day of the festival and you been dancing non stop for days, breathing in dust, being in the hot sun, in the rain but STILL you came to my gig with that CHAMPION ENERGY 🏆🦁🏆

Bigup also to @dubuphifi for the great Sound System!

-

It was in a beautiful natural spot, full of forest, waters, art and vibes!

Alot of the crowd has been in Goa and i noticed that i know this crowd very well - whereas its a multigenre music festival, not everyone is a dubhead - so i could try some different tunes and some of the most appreciloved tunes of the set was the Indian Dub Fusion tuned 🌞🇮🇳🪷

Here though i was running our NUH BADDA release with @ezekiahrose on vocals, produced by me & mix n master by @vibronicsdub 🎶

This one tends to energize the dance everytime 🛸

It is inspired by @officialmackab ”no man badder than jah” 🔥🔥🔥

See you on friday FRANCE 🥷🏽

Marcus Garvey Tribute in Indian Jungle 🇮🇳

-

One of my favourite rootical Reggae tunes by @ezekiahrose , a tribute to the great Marcus Garvey 🇯🇲

Marcus Garvey was a hugely important pan-Africanist, who had the vision to take Black people who been taken from their homeland and bring them forward to Africa again through the Black Star Liner 🏆

The story and life of Marcus Garvey is truly magnificent, inspiring and also motivating!

His journey was definately not easy and the amount of hardships he went through is insane 👀

He also prophecized about Haile Selassie in his speech: “Look to Africa, when a Black king shall be crowned, for the day of deliverance is at hand.”
Ten years later, Haile Selassie became emperor of Ethiopia, and many people saw this as the prophecy coming true 🇪🇹

A real HERO 🇯🇲❤️🏆

-

Some of his journey:

Founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) in 1914 to promote Black unity, pride, and economic independence.

Garvey later expanded the organization in the United States, where it became a major movement for Black nationalism and Pan-Africanism.

Encouraged Black people to build their own businesses and communities rather than depend on white-controlled institutions.

Promoted Pan-Africanism and the idea that people of African descent around the world should unite.

Published the newspaper Negro World to spread his ideas.

Became one of the most influential Black political leaders of the early 20th century.

Some of what he faced:

Racism and discrimination, especially in the United States.

Government surveillance and hostility from the FBI, which considered him a threat.

In 1922, Garvey was convicted of mail fraud related to the Black Star Line - as i remember he was set up for this and not his own action (pls correct me if im wrong here)

He was imprisoned and later deported to Jamaica in 1927

-

I can highly recommend to check out Marcus Garvey story - it’s not only for Rastas , even if he is a very important figure to them.
This story is phenomenal for anyone to know 🇯🇲

Nuh Badda Reggae Sound System Tune live from Jamaica 🇯🇲

-

Yes fam-i-ly ❤️

This tune was inspired by the great @officialmackab tune ”Badda Than Jah”, which we played alot in India during the years!

I love the lyrics in that tune and I got inspired to make this tune happen with @ezekiahrose 🎶

I had the chorus lyrics and melody allready in mind - which Ezekia also liked, so he finished up the tune fast and then here we are now 🔆

Here King Ezekiah is giving us a little acapella vibes from yard 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

-

I’ve been running this one as a dubplate for little more than a year now and people have been showing great dance moves to this one (150 bpm business 👀) 🏆

You can experience it in all the normal places!

More music on the way 🙏

Swedish Reggae Producer with Jamaican Rasta Artist in India 🇮🇳

-

Next episode bring us forward to the 10000 Lions Studio aka Dub Akhara Studio aka RUFF GONG studio in Goa - India 🇮🇳

This time we get to hear some jokes and preparations for @goasunsplash and some reasonings with @ninjah396 and @ezekiahrose 🔆

-

At the moment in a country with 1.5 billion people in it, there are just a few Indian Reggae Singers, producers and even selektas.

We love to see more Indian Reggae artists rising up aswell and it is also something that we try to push/train Indian friends of ours to become singers, selektas & producers!

Right now @sukanya.music is an Indian Female Reggae Artist that is really impressing with her focus, dedication and sheer amount of recordings for different projects - the latest being their single ”MAYA” with @obfsoundsystem and @tigerdubs 🇮🇳

Another Indian Dub producer to keep your eyes on is bhaiji @indraa.jeet 👀🦁🦚

-

I learned alot from Ezekiah when it comes to Reggae Music, Rasta, Jamaican Culture and more!

It was really an experience to spend more or less everyday in the studio for 2,5 months! 🦁

I could also show him what i know about the Steppa / UK Dub style of music.

When we combined our knowledge - some really unique and powerful music came out of it! 🔆

-

It was the first time Ezekiah went outside Jamaica and to go from Jamaica on a 60h flight through Panama, Turkey, Mumbai and then to land in Goa and reach to Arambol is what i would say to step outside of your comfort zone kinda radically! 🦚

There were so many things that was nice to see him experience for the first time - like cows in the street, the different temples, culture, music, people and so much more!

The reason to why we had the opportunity to bring him to India is because of all the love and support that you keep showing us.

With that we can expand, grow and provide musical experiences that India hasnt seen before 🇯🇲
