𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐝 is back in the global spotlight, thanks to multiple film productions. It makes sense the original wealth redistributor would be in vogue during these times of financial unease.

One of the biggest benefactors is 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐦. The character is the anchor to the English city’s tourism. What I learned here is how much other history has taken place in Nottingham — much of it consequential to the shaping of the modern world.

Historian/writer/actor Ade Andrews offers walking tours of Nottingham that explore both the legend of Robin Hood and the under-recognized history of this city in the heart of the English Midlands. He has spent 30+ years investigating Robin Hood lore and convincingly declares, “I am Robin Hood.” Do spend time with him when you’re in the region — it’s a provocative mix of education and entertainment that will give you an understanding of why Robin Hood endures.

Elsewhere, travellers can tour Nottingham Castle, which includes an extensive cave network, and walk through Sherwood Forest, where many powerful historic events have taken place, and visit the caves of Creswell Crags, reputed for being where Robin Hood and the Merrymen hid out from the Sheriff of Nottingham and more recently is home to the oldest Ice Age artifacts in England — some of which indicate human activity dating back 13,000 years!

👋 Hello Nottingham 🍏 @nottsnomad 📷

The ZOOM on the new iPhone 18 Pro Max is CRAZY!

I previously had the 16 Pro Max (which peaked at 5x zoom), however the iPhone released this week goes to 8x zoom!

I just had to get into Nottingham and try it out! 👀

Can’t wait to take this phone on some of the epic adventures I have planned! Follow @NottsNomad to see what I get up to 💪

Teaching Robin Hood how to play a board game!!! This one is Robin Hood Vs Big Foot so he should be a natural right?!

He had to put his quiver of arrows to the side for this one as it's all about tactical movement on the board!

If you would like to try your hand at this game it's in our library and is called Unmatched, Robin Hood Vs Bigfoot! Ask for it when you are next in!

Adventures in Nottingham 🏹

Got the train up for the @weareabpco Festival of Learning.

We were stoked to be staying at the gorgeous @nottinghamvenues (The Orchard Hotel) - such lush grounds on some of the sunniest days of the year.

After arriving we headed straight into a walking tour with THE Robin Hood (aka @ezekialbone). Get ready for some facts.

We started at the @justicemuseum - a former Victorian courtroom, prison, and police station (the site was used as a court since 1375!).

From there, we walked through the historic Lace Market, stopped by @pitcherandpianonottingham (in a stunning converted church), visited @yeoldetriptojerusalemnotts (England’s oldest surviving inn dating back to 1189), and finished with a private tour of @nottinghamcastle with incredible views across the city.

At the conference itself - I was so proud of @johndmartinez for presenting to a rather large room.
