$Happy New month guys It's been about 2 months since I posted. I'd actually been working on this video which I originally intended posting on Africa month(May)... But it took longer than I could have imagined. Weeks and weeks of research, getting facts together, editing and even more research. This video showcases some proud moments in African history you've probably never heard of. It's really important to me that the people of Africa and African descent see that there is so much to pride in as an African beyond the very popular condescending history of slavery and colonization. You may not realize it, but the things we know about our history/past contribute greatly to how we see ourselves. So it's really important we educate ourselves on history. Know your roots! In the past years I'd celebrate my birthday with alot of anxiety and ingratitude (for some reason I just don't feel good on my birthdays) but today has been different, a good kind of different.

I am so grateful to God for life, family, friends and the multiple talents and skills He has blessed me with.

By the grace of God I can do anything I set my mind to.
Today I'm a dancer, tomorrow a singer/songwriter, next thing you know I'm a model or a showcasing designer at a fashion show, a fashion illustrator or hair stylist.
Sometimes its me trying out yoga or getting involved in one sports or the other, another time I am a crazy chef. Like I do a lot and still do pretty well with school work.

It's all God's grace and I genuinely believe I've been endowed for a reason so I'd keep trying to improve in all these areas looking to God for direction and balance.

So today I celebrate different, I celebrate full of gratitude and love.

My prayer is to live a purposeful life in line with God's will and to have a positive impact in my world while here on earth.

Thank you all for celebrating me today. I appreciate you ❤
