SALSA NA’MA x SALSACTIVISM brings together DJ WOOF spinning classic salsa and the live timba/salsa sounds of Fabio y Su Tremendo Lío.

From the turntables to the stage, it’s a night made for dancing.

Yesterday we brought some Boricua Caribbean soul to Vote Fest NYC!

One of my favorite moments was when the sound system went out, we didn’t let that stop us. The crowd kept the music going. People of all ethnicities, singing “Soy puertorriqueño”. A beautiful reminder of how music and culture bring us together.

Gracias to @ckoenig212 and the band for making it happen, and to everyone who sang along and shared that moment with us!

Event recap of “A Mover La Ciudad: 2026 Hispanic Heritage Community
Run”

🏃🏻‍♀️We ran a 5k through the Williamsburg streets (aka Los Sures). During it, we make 4 stops to learn about the rich history of salsa and the Puerto Rican culture. My favorite was seeing the legend herself, @tonitasny, owner of Caribbean Social Club (I’ll make a separate post spotlighting this).

🪘After the run, we danced for hours to salsa music. We also were greeted with unlimited Puerto Rican empanadas yumm

Normally, I don’t go to Brooklyn (it’s 7-8 trains round trip…) but when I saw this event, it was a no brainer. Many of you know that social dancing and running are HUGE parts of my life. So when I found out there was an opportunity to meet other Latinos who enjoy the same combo, I hopped on all those trains with such a big smile. This was sooooo worth the trek. I was smiling loads and leaned a lot too :) I also met cool people that I hope become new friends here ☺️

Art has always been a part of Salsa. It is a way to share our stories, express our feelings, and communicate our creativity. We partnered with Puerto Rican Fine Artist & Muralist, Don Rimx, to bring you a 1 of 1 piece entitled “Las Manos Duras”. This 1 of 1 piece will be on display at our 6th Annual ‘A Mover La Ciudad’ Community 5k Run on 9/29 in Los Sures at On Williamsburg. Come learn more about the piece, the significance of Ray Barretto, and why it was chosen for this run. Not for sale. 💃🏽🥥🪘
