Congratulations to Fabiola, Lee and Don for successfully completing their Technical Wreck Penetration Course!

After five intense days with 6 hours of theory, 3 hours of dry run practice and over 8 hours of total underwater time managing line work, skills, black out masks, emergency procedures, problem solving and 4 penetration dives, they came out on top finishing with a near perfect technical wreck penetration dive! Part 2, the PNW. amazing how almost the second you cross from CA to Oregon the landscape changes. the forest comes right up to the edge of the coast and becomes denser and even more lush. since this point it’s felt like we’ve abandoned summer and lived under 65 degrees! green, green everywhere ☔️ fell in love with deep cove, BC and stayed a few days with @fab_dives 💚

Our first ocean day is officially in the books—and what a day it was!☀️🌊

We headed out to Cates Park and were treated to one of those perfect spring days on the coast: sunshine, cherry blossoms, calm conditions, and a great energy from the whole team.

Today was all about bringing everything together. After putting in the work through classroom sessions and confined water, our Instructor Development Course (IDC) candidates stepped into the real teaching environment—delivering ocean presentations and working through full teaching scenarios.

From dive briefings to in-water control, problem solving, and demonstrating skills, it was fantastic to see the candidates step up with confidence and professionalism. This is where it all starts to feel real—and they rose to the occasion.

A big shoutout to Dive & Sea Sports IDC Staff Instructor Sean Junkin and UBC Aqua Soc Staff Instructor candidate Kenta Bresee for their leadership and support, helping guide and mentor the group alongside Course Directors Fabiola and Greg. The teamwork and encouragement across the board made for a really positive and productive day.

If today is any indication, this is a strong group of future instructors in the making!
