We vote yes ☑️ Being Asian-Australian meant walking the fine line between an individualistic culture and a collectivist culture when planning this wedding. An intimate winery wedding or a large banquet where tradition reigned? We wanted to celebrate a little bit of both, because we are, at heart, the children of both these worlds. We knew from the beginning that we wanted this wedding to feeling wholeheartedly like us- irreverent, bold, and aesthetic. The chaos felt overstimulating at times, but in hindsight was also exactly how we love to host: Vietnamese-Chinese hospitality combined with mindful western polish. There was both a photobooth @dlux.photobooth and a live portraits @fableliveportraits set up, a beautifully timeless cake and an instant noodles station. Three white dress changes and Martell shots for all. More, clearly, is more. We hope that everyone there, from family to close friends to relatives to acquaintances to elders, had just as much fun as we did. Gluten-Free Melb CBD 🌆 My recommendations for gluten-free dining in Melbourne CBD: 📸 2, 3 – Hotel Nacional @hotelnacional.co 📍 Modern Mexican cuisine with a menu that is 100% gluten free. The food is outstanding, and the restaurant has such a beautiful aesthetic. 📸 4, 5 – Regretless @regretless_au 📍 100% gluten free, with an incredible range of delicious sweets. Everything is low carb and gluten free, and they also make tasty ham and cheese toasties. 📸 6, 7 – Fable Melbourne @fablemelbourne 📍 Delicious drinks and fantastic food. Everything on the menu is gluten free except for one dessert item, which is prepared separately. 📸 8, 9 – Stalactites Restaurant @stalactitesrestaurant 📍 A Coeliac Australia-accredited Greek restaurant serving some of the most incredible gluten-free Greek food in Melbourne. 📸 10, 11 – Bodega Underground @bodegamelbourne 📍 A 100% gluten-free Mexican restaurant. I highly recommend trying their cinnamon sugar churros. 📸 12, 13 – Chocolate Buddha @chocolate_buddha 📍 Offers a dedicated gluten-free menu with an abundance of safe options for coeliacs. ✨ The first photo is a throwback to golden hour at Mid Air Melbourne under its previous ownership. The venue now operates as Cleo. I haven’t visited since the change, so it’s not included in this list, but I’m curious to see how it’s evolved. The photo remains one of my favourite Melbourne city moments at sunset ❤️
