Expanding the story. 🎬

Acting matters because the stories we watch shape the way we understand people we may never meet. They can make someone feel familiar instead of foreign, complicated instead of stereotyped, and worthy of being at the center of the story instead of standing somewhere in the background.

That is why representation matters so deeply to me.

As a Filipino-Cambodian American stepping further into acting, I want to be part of an industry where Asian characters get to be funny, messy, romantic, ambitious, terrified, complicated, heroic, ordinary and everything in between. Where our heritage can be part of who we are without being the only story we are allowed to tell.

I’ve spent years telling stories through journalism, filmmaking, hosting and performing. Now I’m learning to tell them through character, emotion, stillness, and the smallest moments in front of a camera.

This is a new chapter, and I’m ready to work for it. 🎥

Being selected to attend @theindustrynetwrk was truly one of the best experiences to learn and grow as an actress and model. Getting into the final high fashion show for the Awards dinner challenged Athena as a model in new ways. She grew and took advice from the older models there who took her to the side and worked with her. There were multiple callbacks and she made the final cut 🎉❤️.

We are appreciative of @faceforwardactorsmodels for seeing the talent in Athena and giving her all the wonderful training.

At the Awards show she placed:
1. Top Ten in Test Shoot
2. Top Ten in Runway
3. 2nd Runner Up in Resort/Sport
4. 3rd Runner Up in Model of the Year
5. 3rd Runner Up in Star of the Year

We are so proud of her and all of her accomplishments ❤️☀️❤️.

Jacob took his FINAL bow on the Lion King stage last night! It was the most unbelievable , exciting , emotional, and bittersweet moment for him and our entire family! Jacob was bursting with emotion on that stage and just absorbing it all in! What a journey this has been for him! Thank you so much to the entire cast and crew of Lion King for embracing him, nurturing him, teaching and inspiring him to grow this past year into such a light on that stage, but most of all thank you for being such great role models for Jacob and all the cubs and showing him what it means to be a grounded, kind and humble performer! He has made lifelong friendships! There is NOTHING that can ever replace LIVE THEATER, no AI app or program that can capture an audience’s heart and fill you with so much emotions and take you on a ride right in front of your eyes! We will be forever grateful for the experience and the memories of Lion King! Never in our wildest dream did we ever think this was possible, but Jacob chased this dream with blazing shoes on and he never gave up! We are so proud of your accomplishments and for representing the ASIAN community on BROADWAY !! I know you will inspire others to do the same!! Jacob, you have a heart of GOLD and we love you so much and the sky is the limit! Thank you so much to all of Jacob’s past and present teachers, instructors, mentors and team - who have inspired him, taught him, supported him, believed in him, and loved him so much- we are forever grateful for all your hardworking and time and love- Jacob would not be standing on this stage without it!!! - @mzosobajan @lauren_hirsh @callicompany @ddokids @mckennamurdock @emiliasargentstudio @ovations_dance_academy_tampa @tommytunes88 @melodymahusay @sethtravaglino @corbettprepids @rancewright @thebrilliantdanielz @vybkidsdance @demariojhenry @mrtaptastic @tatinunez143 @faceforwardactorsmodels @shannonschueman @julie_schmoyer_nelson @carriedietsch. And finally we want to thank all our family and friends who have shown so so much LOVE and support for Jacob and our entire family through this journey! We LOVE you all so much!
