Took my sister to Loi Loi Rooftop to celebrate the weekend 🥳🥂

It’s on the 6th floor so if you sit by the windows you can get a bit of a view. It looked pretty outside tonight since the ground is covered in snow ❄️

I knew almost right away I wanted to try the Japanese vegetable pancake. It sounded different and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Plus it had won a sustainable meal prize so it had to be good right?!

And it sure was! The flavors were super nice. And the lemonade was apparently a limited edition, since this particular batch won’t be made anymore so once it’s gone it’s gone! But it did taste nice (and was only 6% gin) ~ they actually have a distillery in the restaurant so they make all the gin in house 😮

But it was a nice evening catching up with my sister after a busy work week. Now it’s time to enjoy the weekend 😎

ad @kellumo.fi | Found my way to a floating session which is meant for stress and anxiety reduction and muscle relaxation.

💧 This concept was first introduced to me through the Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon and Amy go for stress relief
💧 You go for a session of 60 minutes in a sensory deprivation pod filled with salt water (meaning even if you don’t know how to float like me lol you’ll still automatically be able to). They said it has a similar salt concentration as the Red Sea
💧Also the air + water is skin temperature so it’s hard to know where the water even is on your body 😂 The feeling is the same as floating in zero gravity! There is music of your choice at the beginning and end of the session but otherwise it’s silent. There are mood lights that can be switched off for a full turned off sensory experience which I found pretty cool!
💧 The idea is to relax your mind and body to strive for a meditative state. I found the time went super quick, I would’ve guessed only 20 mins passed by but suddenly the hour was up!
💧 The pod is big enough you can float in a starfish shape and not touch the sides so it’s quite big ⭐️

For me it felt like a meditation spa 🧘‍♀️ The showers had unscented products you can use (good also for sensitive skin) plus they provide all the towels, haircare, face/body products, hairdryer etc so you don’t need to bring anything. Then you can relax after your session with some tea (and chat with the worker if you’re me about neuroscience and Edinburgh 😂👌🏻) Apparently studies show an increase in theta waves in the brain during the floating pod experience which is linked to that deeply relaxed state some people feel in there 🧠

We tried Monkey King and China Jasmine tea, both rich in aroma and flavor! 🍵✨ They follow a traditional tea-serving process, even teaching us the Chinese ritual of pouring tea over the teapot for good luck. Plus, how cute is this little fox that changes color when hot tea is poured on it? 🦊🔥

And let’s not forget the desserts! 🍵🍮 Our matcha pudding was almost too adorable to eat.

If you’re a tea lover or just looking for a relaxing spot in the heart of Helsinki, this is a must-visit! ✅ 10/10 recommend!
