The shirt I’m wearing is from @faetqofficial Easily the best I’ve felt in a shirt while playing almost 10 straight basketball games. As you can see, I’m qualified! #AreYouQualified

This group of young men is special!! Their families are special, too!!!

They came to @roadtonationals and proudly represented Lubbock. We had a lot of people asking where Lubbock was located. The last team we played, an EYBL Scholastic team from Virginia, had never even heard of Lubbock, and these young men made sure they knew about it.

There are so many memories to take away from this weekend—overtime wins, a heartbreaking sudden-death loss, and many more unforgettable moments on the court. This group went 3-1 in the Gold Bracket and finished among the top teams in a field of 180.

With all that being said, the most special thing to watch was the genuine joy they had for one another’s success. You don’t see that as often anymore. Just as memorable were the evenings when the players and families spent time together. There was none of the internal competition you sometimes see on teams today. Instead, there was fun, support, encouragement, and excitement as this little engine took all of us on an incredible ride.

Thank you, Matador families. This is going to be a special adventure, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us next.

Happy Father’s Day! 🏀❤️💙💛
