one year since i left family and friends to find my path, to get to know myself, to step out of my comfort zone and believe in myself.

one year of many flights, missed birthdays, difficult conversations, little crying sanctuaries and missed hugs. one year in which, in learning to let go, a space was created that each of these souls filled with immense light. one year in which I understood what it means to feel seen, supported, and often corrected — because honestly, german grammar wtf?

one year of morning notes written from the heart, vintage markets, too expensive matcha, lake sunsets with lidl chips and endless yap, crazy events, beautiful trips with le mie stelle singing “blanchito bebeeeee” reminding me how lucky i am. one year of new beginnings, special colleagues, motto parties, matching nails and gin basil.

one year in which feeling vulnerable is part of everyday life, but doesn’t scare me anymore and try to take fears and doubts arm in arm.

one year in which i met incredible people, strengthened old relationships, brought together my fiorentine people with those I now consider home.

one year of feeling split in two, of belonging to two places at the same time, and hoping to find something that can hold them together.

one year of many “see you soon”, “come back”,
one year of day trips, pasta alla carbonara and snacks on the couch coming out with “should we book this flight?”

one year of holding hands, endless hugs and laughing until it hurts — especially when I make up german words thinking they’re real (pipigeist iykyk).

one year in which I am learning to trust time, my feelings, trying to live in the present because trying to control has only brought me pain.

one year in which I loosened my grip a little, in which I understood that it’s not up to me to hold all the pieces together, and that it’s okay to fall apart, to breath cause I am surrounded by people who are a safe place, who are open arms and pure light.

i wish for you to feel loved and to feel at home in someone’s embrace, or even in the silence of a new life chapter that is still entirely to be discovered ❤️‍🩹
