There’s always something special about discovering a new bookstore! 📚

Today while attending the farmer’s market in Martinez I discovered @fairarrowbooks and I knew I had to stop and visit. I have not visited this market in years and so I was happy to have found a new-to-me bookstore.

There’s just something about browsing shelves, discovering new stories, and supporting local businesses that feels like a little treasure. I always love finding places that make a community feel even more special!

I adored how light and airy the place felt and it had a carefully curated selection of books and bookish items. They also had the most amazing seating area that I wish I had more time to enjoy. That’s for next time because I will be visiting them again.

As always please support your local bookstores!

Find Critter Butts merch on the west coast at-

@aseatatthetablebooks - Elk Grove, CA
@fairarrowbooks - Martinez, CA
@greenapplebooks - San Francisco, CA
@heatheredyarnco - Grass Valley, CA
@mystgalaxybooks - San Diego, CA

Who should be stocking us in Nevada, Utah, or Arizona??? Let us know!

P.S. if you disagree with California being 'Southwest', don't judge me- I had to split things into sections somehow and every option I considered felt wrong one way or another. 😭 #doingmybest

🔥 DOWNTOWN DND 2026 SNEAK PEEK 🔥

Something strange has been stirring on the shelves of Fair Arrow Books… 📚🐉

As The Gathering Flame draws adventurers back to Downtown Martinez, old creatures are beginning to stir — some familiar, some forgotten, and some that were probably better left inside the pages.

At this year’s Downtown DND, adventurers may find themselves standing before a collection of ancient Bestiaries.

Your task?

🔎 Study the clues.
🧙 Trust your knowledge of magical creatures.
📖 Find the book that holds the beast.

Choose wisely. There may be a few books on the table that have absolutely no intention of helping you. 😏

This is just ONE of the games waiting throughout Downtown Martinez on November 7th as The Conclave Ignites.

And yes… we are absolutely making you work for your adventure this year. 😂

🔥 Downtown DND 2026: The Gathering Flame — The Conclave Ignites
📍 Downtown Martinez
📅 November 7 | 11–5

The Flame is gathering. Will you answer the call?

Last week we had the honor of presenting @fairarrowbooks as our August Business of the Month. It is a privilege to support and recognize such awesome businesses in our community. Thank you @fairarrowbooks for supporting the Chamber and for being such a wonderful part of Martinez.

Is your business next for Business of the Month?

Fair Arrow Books + Goods in Downtown Martinez has the cutest kids corner, where they can explore all the books that catch their eye. I especially love that their shelves are filled with such a great mix of diverse and inclusive stories, so kids can find books that reflect their own lives AND introduce them to experiences different from their own. 🫶🏻

They even do a Storytime on Sundays at 1030am with @songsparrowplaygarden! 🎵
