I took this photo of Dr Eric Wilcots like 100 years ago. Maybe 15 years ago. For Madison Magazine. And he’s now the Chancellor of the UW. I bet he’s called Chanceller Wilcots now.

Since I was looking at my website I grabbed a few other oldies. I took a photo Chef Itaru, who is the chef at Fairchild now, about 100 years ago also. When he worked at Graze. Or when he was in this photo at Graze.

Photo 3 is Joan. She married (and divorced) my ex boyfriend. It’s just a good story. Story woulda been better if I took the photo before they knew each other. I took the photo after they had broken up.

Photo #4. Prolly the oldest photo on my website. This guy is probably like 50 now!!!

- cozy brunch at @twistedgrounds. i’ll miss that peach cheesecake matcha!

You did it once again, Fairchild Restaurant! ❤️

We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary a little early in August and knew exactly where to go for a consistently delicious evening. We dabbled in several dishes because, really, you can never go wrong with anything on the menu. Every bite was fantastic, our server was absolutely amazing & we couldn’t have asked for a better evening.

I could’ve eaten 100 of those oysters and slurped down an entire vat of that soup. SO GOOD.

Thank you for making our celebration so special! ❤

It’s restaurant week on my Instagram this week!! Got to take photos at Fairchild for Destination Madison and it really stressed me out and I really loved it.
And and and!!! Me and Josh are going on Friday. STOKED!!!

HELLO
1. Welcome back to my #itmimimonday, a somewhat regular series where I share 5 things about myself, whether they’re random facts, thoughts, or little life updates. Really, it’s more about giving myself a reason to pause and reflect - life moves way too quickly sometimes
2. I recently went to Milwaukee + Madison for @undergrounddonuttour (we just launched sweet treat tours there!!). I spent an extra day + night in Madison where it was nice to go kayaking, spend time with a dear friend that I’ve known since high school, then taking time by myself where I visited the @olbrichgardens then ate at @fairchildrestaurant before I took a bus back to Chicago. Oh all of these photos/videos were taken in Madison ❤️
3. It’s been a while since I have eaten at a restaurant by myself and it feels weird to say how I actually do really enjoy it, the simplicity of it. I mean food is always better shared but there’s just something about dining by yourself. Maybe I’ll do this again sometime soon.
4. I feel like I always have to be the one that stays calm, whether it’s with work, friends and it’s kind of stressing me out, holding this all in sometimes. Why do I have to be so poised UGH. I just want to hide under a rock sometimes yaknow

been trying to add little things to look forward to in the middle of the week, so we went out for a little dinner date at one of my favorite restaurants in madison, wi! here are some bits and bites from the night:
- beef tartare
- blistered shishitos and dungeness crab
- sweet corn and ricotta triangoli
- monkfish and braised corn, shrimp and charred tomato water
- sweet corn tres leches (the most delicious dessert ever!)
