Congratulations to 2027 Catcher Nathan Shepherd (@nate.shephrd) on his commitment to Fairmont State University (@fairmontstatebsbl)!

Nate is a quality backstop who had an excellent summer and continues to stand out in the 2027 class. He shows good receiving and blocking actions behind the plate with a plus arm and sub 2.00 pop times. Offensively, Nate consistently finds the barrel and shows legitimate power with EVs into the upper 90s. His combination of defensive ability and offensive production gives him a chance to make an impact on both sides of the ball.

Fairmont State is adding a talented catcher with the tools to raise the performance of a pitching staff and contribute offensively. We are excited to follow Nate as he begins the next chapter of his baseball career.

Congratulations, Nate, and best of luck at Fairmont State!

I am so blessed to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Fairmont State University.

I first want to thank my dad for staying with me through this whole process. From tee ball to now you have never left my side and I wouldn’t want to go through this time with anyone else. Words can’t and will never explain how thankful I am to have you.

I want to thank the rest of my family and loved ones for their sacrifices and help along the way.

Thank you to all of my teammates and coaches, you guys have made me a better person and player.

Special thanks to Coach Shives and Coach Merle, the time we put in during the winters were not always easy but definitely payed off.

Lastly, thank you Coach Yurish and the rest of the coaching staff for giving me this amazing opportunity.

Go Falcons!!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in and helped make First Flight such a HUGE success! 🤩 Our First-Year students were able to experience and learn about campus, connect with their classmates and colleagues, as well as explore the local area throughout the weekend. We hope that all of our students have a great first day of classes tomorrow!
