What happens when you bring a sold-out room of advisors, industry leaders and some incredible speakers together for a full day of learning, conversation and connection? You get a day filled with new perspectives, practical takeaways and a few memorable moments along the way. ✨👏

Yesterday, Advocis National was pleased to join our @advocistoronto Chapter for Planning and Resilience in Practice, a full-day conference focused on strengthening advisory practices and helping clients navigate some of life’s most important planning decisions.

The day opened with @randytaylormade and “The Clarity Advantage,” followed by conversations spanning health, estate planning, beneficiary designations and more. Reh Bhanji of Desjardins Insurance hosted two fireside chats throughout the day, including a Discovery Series Unplugged conversation with Dr. Tracey Parnell of Teladoc Health Canada.

Advocis’ own Chief Operating Officer, Geoff Le Quelenec, also took the stage to provide an advocacy update, highlighting some of the recent work Advocis National has undertaken on behalf of advisors and planners and what’s ahead.

One of the standout moments from the packed agenda came from @sportsnet’s @faizkham, who closed the conference with a powerful and deeply personal account of his experience surviving cancer. Drawing on his own journey, Faizal spoke to the importance of having insurance protection in place before life takes an unexpected turn, bringing a very human perspective to a conversation at the heart of the profession. He then opened the discussion to the room, engaging with attendees on everything from his personal experience and career in broadcasting to questions from attendees about hockey, baseball, soccer and cricket.

A special thank you to @desjardinsinsurance, the lead sponsor of the Toronto Conference, for their support of the day, and to the booth sponsors @tag_theadvisorgroup, @serenialife and Cloven for being part of the experience. TAG also brought some extra fun to the day with a giveaway for attendees. 🙌

Two powerful perspectives. One day focused on building greater resilience, clarity and strength into your practice.

On September 10, the @advocistoronto Chapter brings advisors, planners and industry professionals together for the Advocis Toronto Conference 2026: Planning and Resilience in Practice, featuring Canadian sports broadcaster @faizkham and performance expert @randytaylormade.

Get ready to hear from one of Canada’s most recognizable sports broadcasters, Faizal Khamisa! From Sportsnet Central and Hockey Central to Hockey Night in Canada and covering Canada on the world stage, Faizal has built a career telling some of the biggest stories in Canadian sports. At the Advocis Toronto Conference, he’ll bring a different story to the stage: his own remarkable journey of resilience.

Randy Taylor will present The Clarity Advantage, exploring why the most successful advisors aren’t necessarily working harder, they’re thinking clearer. Drawing on 25 years of working alongside senior financial advisors and top practices across Canada, Randy will share a practical approach to sustaining focus and clarity under pressure.

The day will also feature Dr. Tracey Parnell of Teladoc Health Canada, Reh Bhanji bringing the Discovery Series: Unplugged podcast to the stage, Laroux Peoples of PPI and more speakers to be announced in the coming days. Throughout the conference, an interactive case will evolve across sessions, bringing different perspectives to the individual and corporate planning challenges that financial advisors encounter in practice.

Attendees can expect a full day of practical insights on risk mitigation, business continuity and comprehensive planning, along with opportunities to connect with fellow professionals over an Oliver & Bonacini catered lunch.

A special thank you to @desjardinsinsurance, Lead Sponsor of the Advocis Toronto Conference 2026, for supporting professional development and the advisor community.

Registration closes September 3rd, and space is limited. Secure your spot at the Eventbrite link in our bio! 🔗

I was thrilled to emcee the inaugural Future of Soccer Summit to kick off the FIFA World Cup in Toronto.
So many fascinating panels discussing the legacy the tournament will leave in building a stronger, more globally competitive soccer ecosystem in Canada.🇨🇦 ⚽️
Thank you Dr. Cheri Bradish @seebrad of @torontomet and @futuresportlab and @curranashley of @sidecarsportscanada for asking me to take part. And I was grateful to have my 91 yr-old dad there to take it all in.

Then it was off to Canada Soccer House to meet Team Canada. Ah, the beautiful game! ⚽️
