You caught us reminiscing about our 2nd annual Collective retreat this summer 😍 👥 We met to discuss how our community makes decisions together, communicates with each other, and invites new people to join us.  🪩 We moved our bodies, created zines, and ate delicious food. 👩🏾‍🎨 We shared our art in the first-ever Collective showcase.  Our retreat has quickly become an anchor for our ongoing practices of shared leadership, artist-led organizing, and relationship building.  We 💗🫶🏿🤎 our Collective community!  Photos by @tinajunemalek

it was my birthday this week!!! this is weirdly the first year that i feel like the exact age i am. i feel responsible and more unfiltered and constantly in physical pain, overwhelmingly (underwhelmingly?) less emotional pain, and if my life was made of clay, i see my hand prints all over the shape of it. im BUSY im in LOVE i have a KITTY my FRIENDS rule…… i have it all baybeeeee. and the things that has kept me filled to the brim has been the community liberation work i do with my friends and lovers. for those of you who have asked what i want as a gift for my bday, this is my ask: please make a monthly donation to one or all of the groups that keep my life meaningful and fulfilled. @queerspanetwork @aetnastreetsolidarity and @levelground.co all donation links are in my bio and MONTHLY gifts, even $5 a month is my ask 🙏 a lil about each group- 🧼 Queer Spa Network 🧼 my child….. the project i cofounded with @coralzoa. amongst the various projects we do, we are fundraising so that queer care workers can give FREEEEEE services to the communities under attack and that need care the most— poor folks, disabled, trans, and immigrant communities. ⛺️Aetna Street Solidarity ⛺️ We just got a physical location to call home and have been opening it up as a free store, a hub for free food, a refuge from heat, and an event space for our neighbors living in public. Contributing to Aetna St keeps the electricity on and rent paid another month so that we can keep up with community needs. 🔮 Level Ground 🔮 Level Ground is a BIPOC centered art collective that supported my first solo art show outside of school. they are fucking cool as hell and ive learned so much about how to be in collective from them. i dont know any other group that treats its members with as much care, dignity, and patience. Level Ground is a non-profit and supports emerging artists of color with mentorship and opportunities. Right now they are working on having a physical space again for art and social practice programming. please support this effort!!
