Mitä tapahtuu, kun sana alkaa elää myös kuvana?

Katveen ryhmänäyttely Wordplay liikkuu kuvan ja kirjoituksen välisessä rajapinnassa, ja kysyy milloin teksti muuttuu kuvaksi ja milloin kuva alkaa puhua. Kirjaimet ja sanat eivät ainoastaan välitä merkityksiä, vaan ottavat tilaa, muuttavat muotoaan ja alkavat toimia visuaalisina elementteinä. Yksittäinen sana voi muuttua muodoksi ja lause maisemaksi.

Näyttelyssä kieli ei ole vain sitä, mitä teokset sanovat. Se on myös sitä, miltä ne näyttävät, miltä ne tuntuvat ja mitä ne jättävät sanomatta.

What happens when a word begins to live also as an image?

Katve’s group exhibition Wordplay explores the space between image and writing, asking when text becomes an image and when an image begins to speak. Letters and words do not merely convey meaning; they take up space, change shape, and begin to function as visual elements. A single word can become a form, and a sentence a landscape. 
In the exhibition, language is not only what the works say. It is also what they look like, how they feel, and what they leave unsaid.

I am so grateful and happy to show you my new screen printed gig poster for @deathcabforcutie ‘s show tonight at @tivolivredenburg in The Netherlands. Yes, it looks like a tower of Piet Mondrian. That was the task, to design a poster with a connection to the city. For me Utrecht stands for »De Stijl« with the famous Gerrit @rietveldacademie . It was so much fun to print this four colors in a size of 50x70cm on creme colored 200g/qm heavy paper. Thanks Dave @probitymerch and Casey @themerchcollective and of course Death Cab For Cutie. The poster is available at the merch table as well as at my website. Link in bio.

Die internationale Poster-Ausstellung #Flatstock feiert ihre 20. Edition im Rahmen des #ReeperbahnFestivals. Deshalb gibt es Live-Siebdruck, eine Führung und spezielle Poster-Motive von insgesamt 25 internationalen Künster*innen. Außerdem: eine "Anniversary Exhibition". Das Camp ist jeden Tag von 14-21 Uhr auf dem Gelände des Festival Village auf dem Heiligengeistfeld geöffnet - auch für Menschen ohne RBF-Ticket. Die meisten Ausstellenden waren auch schon zu Gast im Heft und haben ihre wunderbaren Drucke exklusiv für VISIONS-Abonnent*innen zur Verfügung gestellt.
