Our monthly Fly Fishing & Tying Community Night is almost here!

This Tuesday, October, 20th at 6:00 please join us at our favorite @fallingskybrew for a night of community, connection, laughs, great food & drinks, and more!

This is a great opportunity, if you haven’t been, to connect with the local fly fishing community. We’ve had a ton of new faces and new anglers dropping by so don’t be bashful, you won’t be the only new one!

You don’t have to be a fly flier either to pop in. Plenty of folks just come in to grab a drink, food, or just visit!

Fly tiers are encouraged to bring their vises and materials and get busy. We will be doing fly swap this month as well with prizes from @fulling_mill and @troutunlimited.

Swing by for some great food and beer from our friends at @fallingskybrew. We are so grateful that Stephen has hosted us monthly for well over a year.

Community Nights for 2026 will generally fall on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The full schedule can be found on @oregonflyfishingblog. Stay tuned for updates if we wiggle dates around.

Help spread the word. Pop this up on your story, share it with a friend, tag a friend below, the more the merrier!

See you on Tuesday the 20th next week!

Breweries and cideries across the state are working to protect agricultural land, one craft beverage at a time. The Cheers to the Land campaign challenges makers to create a beer or cider using only Oregon-grown ingredients. On Oct. 17, beer enthusiasts can try them during a festival at Claim 52 in Eugene.

Today I’m celebrating 17 years in recovery from drinking like a boozer.

It’s been one hell of a year! ❤️

I started to pick pics to share that reflected on the year & there were WAY too many good memories to fit in this little social media post.

Steve & I don’t get out together as much as we used to. She’s 15 now & really started to slow down in April. Still, she’s plugging along I’m loving her more & more each day. Pups are such a gift.

I lived in Eugene for four years with my outdated one foot in - one foot out mindset. That left me standing in a hollow place of “good enough” instead of the solid footing that I thrive on. Well… fuck that.

In December I made the choice to bring The Mayfly Project to Eugene followed by choosing the word “pivot” as my theme for 2026. Things shifted immediately.

I’m unbelievably grateful for the connections that have deepened over the past 12 months with community fly tying night, volunteering with Every Child Lane County, The Mayfly Project, all my fishy friends, a few ex coworkers, and folks all around this country. It’s wild how self imposed constraints can actually make life more rich.

As always, if you know someone who is struggling with drugs or alcohol and seeking a different path, I’m happy to be a resource.

Let’s make it a good one.
Be well.
