October in St Mawes.

There’s a quiet beauty to the village at this time of year. The summer crowds have departed. The air and sea are still warm. And the low Autumn sun bathes the harbour in the most beautiful golden light.

Local photographer Lucy Cullen went out at sunrise and sunset to capture these blissful October moments for us.

Want to craft your own signature autumn scented candle? 🕯️🍂

On 28th October at 10 am, we’re hosting a candle-making workshop with Lucinda Cundy (St Mawes Scent Room, ex-Jo Malone London).

You’ll learn the art of fragrance blending and take home your own custom-poured soy candle.
Plus, you can make a full morning of it with an optional two-course lunch afterwards! 🥂

Spaces in the Courtyard Room are very limited, so tap the link in our bio for full details and to grab your spot now.

Name a better way to kick-start the cosy season.

Our Executive Chef @guy_owen headed over the water this weekend to take to the stage @faloysterfest. Guy cooked Monkfish tail in ghee with chilli and lime for the crowd to try. While Sous Chef Rhys took part in the Oyster Shucking Competition proudly claiming 3rd place. What a great weekend celebrating our native Fal oyster.

As the sun set over St Mawes on Saturday, the hotel bar filled with lederhosen and dirndl-clad men and women filling the dance floor. Great steins of beer. Bratwurst and sauerkraut on the menu. Kaj Music on the mic. Congratulations to Bridget, who won the best-dressed prize.

We will have more live music through the Autumn. Keep an eye on here for dates.

Thanks to @lucyincornwall for the great photos!
