Is he Rung? A versatile little moduele, part sequence brain part fashionable acessory 👜

This @fancyyyyyyyy nifty #eurorack interpretation of the classic Rungler design originally developed by Rob Hordijk (R.I.P.), has found a coazy spot in my performance case. I really like it in the middle of a matrix-mixer-powered feedback party between Maths Contour 1. 🎛️

First jam on @fancyyyyyyyy K Accumulator with delay by @echofixaustralia - an absolute beauty of a module, only just scratching the surface of its functionality and design. Can’t wait to dig deeper into this. Hit auto caption by mistake 🙃

More K-Accumulator practice. Working on patches for the big vid but keep getting sidetracked with these technoid jams 🙃 #modularsynth #eurorack #electronicmusic

Subterell

New day, finally cooled down, and finally some proper studio time again.

New track / patch: Subterell — programmed at 109 BPM.

I added a new module to the Leibniz system, which I’m still figuring out, but it immediately opens up some interesting possibilities. The Leibniz system is generating the arpeggiated lead, running through the Cosmic Debris from WMD, where I’m trying to find a better balance between randomly generated melodies and something more controlled.

I’m also experimenting with capturing a loop CV from the generated material with the Bishop’s Miscellany mk2, so it gradually moves from random behaviour into looping and then back again. Still need to work that part out properly, but it’s already giving some nice results.

The bass is a much slower derivative of the Leibniz melody, occasionally accentuating a note with a dubby bass sound from the Alia / Incus.

There’s another melody coming from the Make Noise MultiWave, with CV constantly manipulating the whole thing — especially the rate and oscillator shape. It moves rhythmically from almost audio-rate modulation back down into slow modulation, creating these shifting, almost pad-like sounds with plenty of FM going on. That’s also running through Collide, adding some dissonant FM textures, with a little reverb on top.

Then there’s a completely weird synth voice coming from the K-Accumulator by Fancy Synthesis.

The beat is kick, snare and some strange FM percussion, all generated with Acid Rain Constellation. It’s pretty easy to build something polyrhythmically weird with Constellation: everything else is running at 109 BPM, but the Euclidean patterns let me program kick and snare patterns at completely different rhythmic divisions while still locking into the same clock. So everything feels connected, even when the actual patterns are doing very different things.

Still very much a work in progress, but I like where this one is heading.

Subterell — 109 BPM

Here we go.
