Dear Friends, My beloved companion dog, Deka, died suddenly on Monday. The unconditional love that we felt for each other goes beyond physical existence, and this post is not meant to describe that. He was an incredibly special dog, and I’m lucky that I could spend most of his life with him. I’m deeply grateful for his loving, steady, and extremely adaptive presence, which helped me survive the past 7.5 years of sometimes unbearable difficulties.
Although we were each other’s primary attachment and regulator, he didn’t just belong to me, he was a social connector, everyone’s friend, with his own preferences and particular habits. He taught us unconditional love, softness, presence, and how to seek comfort, safety, and gentle attention everywhere. He was aware of our needs and reminded us when to move and how to connect.
To keep his legacy alive, I’ve opened an account that we will run collectively. You can choose to follow it or check in occasionally; it will be public, and you can also send photos to share via DM. ❤️ Thank you for the love and care, I feel blessed by my community. ❤️
 ps: His transition was sudden and shocking, but because of that, the painful part was very fast. It was a very rare coincidence of two internal events that could not have been prevented. There is no one to blame, and the only way to prepare for something like this is by giving them everything they deserve every day, with love and care.
