The king will always return to his throne.

Dark thorns will never cease to hurt

beneath the metal plates of his armor

the day fades over the nest of thorns

the pain fades within his heart

A painting I’ve been dreaming of creating for a long time. ✨

This artwork is inspired by the beautiful photograph by @laurasheridan.photography , featuring @illyria_okami . Thank you for creating such an incredible source of inspiration😍

The moment I saw this photograph, I fell in love with it. The atmosphere, the colors, the character, the whole feeling of an old fantasy tale — I knew I wanted to bring it into my own world one day.

And finally, I did. 🖤

“They call it a realm. I call it home.”

Legend says the Shura don’t choose war — they’re born into it, reborn again and again into a battlefield with no end, no peace, only the next blade to cross. Skulls hang from his belt like trophies of lives that couldn’t stop him. Twin masks snarl beside his own face — echoes of every enemy he’s already worn down to bone. This is a warrior who was never meant to rest.

Shura Takigawa, straight from Metytoyz’s Adventurer’s World — a limited 1,500-piece run, and one of the most brutal 1/10 sculpts I’ve shot all year. The fur, the layered armor, the sheer weight of detail in that headpiece — this figure doesn’t just pose, it radiates menace.

🔥 Figure: @metytoyz

Shura Takigawa is Metytoyz’s WF2025 limited-edition 1/10 figure (1,500 pieces worldwide) from their Adventurer’s World line — an oni-faced demon warrior in “Onimusha” form, loaded with a hell-forged blade, war banner, and trophy skulls at his belt.

The name itself carries weight: Shura (修羅) comes from Ashura, the Buddhist/Japanese “demon realm” of endless warfare — the Shuradō (修羅道), one of the six realms of rebirth. Warriors reborn there are doomed to fight forever, consumed by bloodlust they can never satisfy, craving a victory that never comes. It’s the perfect myth for a figure built entirely around rage, armor, and skulls.

🔥 “You are not prepared.”

Through smoke, fire, and a flash of fel-green power, Illidan Stormrage steps forward — wings spread, skull in hand, looking like he just walked straight out of Azeroth and into my lens.

For this shot, I wanted something more than a simple character portrait. I wanted the atmosphere of World of Warcraft: the overwhelming presence of a legendary warrior, surrounded by mist and chaos, with that intense backlight suggesting a world burning beyond him.

What I love most is the contrast. The cold blue shadows and smoke give the scene an almost supernatural depth, while the blazing orange light behind Illidan pushes his silhouette forward. Then those glowing green tattoos cut through everything — unmistakably The Betrayer.

Toy photography is at its best for me when the scale disappears. When plastic, lighting, practical smoke, posing and perspective come together for a moment… and suddenly it feels less like photographing a figure and more like capturing a scene from another world.

Welcome to Azeroth. ⚔️🔥

✨🐉 Book Mail Magic + Dragons? Say less. 🐉✨⁣
⁣
The Illumicrate edition of Blood Bound by Ellis Hunter has officially arrived and I am thrilled. This is probably one of my favorite Illumicrate editions ever! 🤩🤩⁣
Just look at this cover — the warm tones, the dragons, the details… it’s already giving epic romantasy vibes before I’ve even turned the first page. 😍⁣
⁣
This story promises witches, dragon riders, deadly rivalries, and high-stakes magic, which sounds like the perfect recipe for my next obsession. And this special edition? Absolutely stunning with all the gorgeous details that make collecting books such a dangerous hobby. 💸📚 ⁣
⁣
Now the real question is: Will this become my next romantasy favorite? 👀⁣

[ Lone Dream ] 🌙

From all that Aizia bore witness to, down to the final hours of the thaw, it collected in icy shades, frigid and crackling in the moonlight. It was the pieces of herself that she sought. The world she watched, as the moons circled low during the late hours. Shadows of the those she writhed to catch, under a web of secrets.

She couldn’t let go, time and time again. It didn’t feel right… not yet. She couldn’t rest, no matter how long she raced into the flurry of blue-grey; no matter how much the cold snapped at her heels, threatening to consume and petrify her in entirety. It’s true that she held on long enough, but it also was far from the answers she needed. Before the world lets her go, she would continue on, racing across still waters and leaving traces of warmth behind until it all would fall quiet.
—

I’d left this painting unwritten for so long, hard to find words to describe the next piece centred around Aizia — not just in a landscape, or through her eyes, but one illustrating her fully in her true form again. I miss these. I’m looking forward to diving into more of these thoughts within portraits again 💙
