My Jamaican Independence Day experience on August 6th was one to remember!🎉 Growing up attending park events with my parents was always the best time to see people across every generation come together to celebrate our culture🇯🇲 @fariishouse & @rioncecaribbean brought those fond memories back at the Honor Oak for a night of intergenerational fun. Dominoes, great food, beautiful families all in one space🥰
There was also a healthcare quiz, plus an introduction to The Plantain Programme from Lewisham Health Equity Teams with @cococollective_org, offering free, nature-based community health checks. Wellbeing is apart of looking after our community too🌱

It was also lovely to finally meet @dcreativeone from @socanews in person🫂 We’d both been following each other in the lead up to the @misscaribbeanuk 2026 finals.
