TheHumbleHost🎩👓 presents: … 📸 An ode to Andy MC 🥂 The Blacklisted Honours 2026 - After Party 📍 Mr Porter, Mayfair 🗓 Tuesday 13th October 2026 🎶 ‘Wait a Minute’ by @TYMusical & @DrewHorley ft. @Mpho_The_GVN … 📣 “Compassion is the only religion I follow.” … The mantra of filmmaker, director, producer and entrepreneur Andy Mundy-Castle, founder of @Docheartsfilm. Words that carry particular meaning when I think about how our paths first crossed. … I first became aware of Andy whilst he was researching the film I knew then as ‘White Nanny’, which became ‘White Nanny, Black Child’. It explored the practice known as ‘farming’: private fostering arrangements through which West African parents placed their children with white British families, often whilst working or studying. For many children, those separations left lasting questions around identity, family and belonging. … My late friend Benedict ‘TY’ Chijioke, aka @TYMusical, was to feature in the film, having experienced this upbringing himself. A musician, community activist and a friend dearly missed. Sadly, TY passed away in May 2020. The completed film was made in his memory, giving this chapter of Andy’s work a significance that is deeply personal to me. Rest in peace, TY. Always part of the story. 🖤 … ‘White Nanny, Black Child’ went on to win both BAFTA and RTS awards in 2024. Recognition for a film that allowed people to speak about a part of their lives that had too often remained unheard. … I later had the pleasure of meeting Andy properly alongside @Thespi_Ant, when we attended a screening of ‘Shoot the People’ at the BFI as part of @S.O.U.L.Fest 2025. Directed by Andy, it follows British Nigerian social activist and photo-griot @MisanHarriman, exploring photography, protest and the determination to bear witness. As someone who finds joy and purpose behind a camera, there’s plenty in that I connected with. … From founding Doc Hearts to bringing these stories to screen, Andy combines entrepreneurial drive with a commitment to people and their experiences. She has worked so hard to build this platform and network for Black British creatives, often out of her own pocket. A woman on a mission that captures my heart.
