2850 miles over 10 days for this stunning 23 year old car which just ate up the miles and everything thrown at it. The mezger engine, new seats and Koni active suspension all sat on Michelin PS4S tyres made this the perfect lead Alcatel even if she was the oldest one there.

2,847.8 miles. 10 days. One hell of a road trip. 🏁🇪🇺

The Alps Grand Tour is done, and what a trip it’s been.

Nearly 2,848 miles at an average 23.7mpg and 45mph, taking the 996 Turbo through France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Germany — Stelvio, Umbrail, Grimsel, Furka, Grossglockner, the Black Forest, the autobahns and finally Stuttgart for the Porsche pilgrimage.

And doing it all with Dad and the Westcountry Porsche Drivers Club made it even more special. Ten days of incredible roads, ridiculous laughs, great food, questionable fuel economy and memories that will stay with us for a very long time.

The 996 was absolutely brilliant. At 23 years old, it swallowed almost 2,850 miles of everything we threw at it and never missed a beat. Well… apart from deciding to make itself slightly lighter at 160mph on the autobahn by shedding a bit of undertray! 😂

And the 997 Sport seats with Pepita inserts? Absolutely fantastic. The extra support through the mountain passes has transformed the car and made those long days behind the wheel even better.

From the first miles out of Calais to the final blast through the Black Forest, this was exactly why we drive these cars.

Great roads. Great cars. Great mates. Dad. And memories made that will last a lifetime. ❤️

🏔️ Furka Pass & the Belvédère Hotel 🇨🇭

If there’s a more spectacular way to arrive at a hotel, we haven’t found it.

Climbing the Furka Pass with the mountains stretching endlessly in every direction, before reaching the iconic Belvédère Hotel perched high above the Rhône Glacier.

Hairpins, towering peaks, incredible views and a convoy of Porsches winding their way through it all.

And from above… it really puts into perspective just how epic this road is. 🎥🏎️

Another unforgettable day in the Alps.

☀️ Grimsel Pass. Perfect sunshine. Incredible views.

One of those days where the Alps simply deliver. 🏔️🇨🇭

The road climbing through the mountains, turquoise lakes below, towering peaks all around and glorious sunshine overhead — the perfect backdrop for a convoy of Porsches making their way across one of Switzerland’s most spectacular passes.

And from the drone… well, it looks even better. 🎥
