For the last three years I’ve had the blessing of setting up and facilitating an art & craft station at our Father’s House OC (FHOC) Women’s retreats at Lake Isabella. At our first retreat we’d painted tiny pots, in which we planted succulents; Then last year we painted designs on taper candles (I’ll have to make a separate post with pics!). This year I wanted to bring my love for Shells to the table (literally 🐚🥰) so we taught how to decoupage oyster and clam shells using paper napkins 🦪🐚 The response to this crafting session was so positive 🥲 Even ladies who don’t consider themselves crafty nor artistic really got into creating these gorgeous pieces. My teacher/artist heart is full 🤲🏽🐚🦪🌸🌱🖌️🙏🏽🥹

James has been the letter I’ve been living in during this season of transition in life and ministry. We love the moment of salvation and we look forward to the hope of glorification, but there is a sacred tension in the middle called sanctification. Salvation gives us both assurance and an invitation to holiness. This is where the tension lives, leaving the old man behind and putting on the new, choosing His ways over ours, and learning to praise Him instead of ourselves. It is a tension that prunes and cuts, but it is also the very process that shapes us to become more like Christ.

You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood
