Bringing the Central Valley together, one basketball game at a time. 🙏🏽🏀❤️

Yesterday we had girls from just about every travel basketball program in Bakersfield come together and play on the same team. Girls who are usually competing against each other got to represent their city together ‼️

But my favorite part was what happened after the game.

We brought both teams together, had them introduce themselves, and gave them the opportunity to talk with former college and professional women’s basketball players from Bakersfield and Fresno. @womenselitehoops

Women who have been and played where these young ladies are striving to go. These women have already lived out some of the same dreams these girls have right now! Sharing advice, building relationships, and making connections that go beyond basketball.

I told the girls yesterday, it’s not always about winning or losing. It’s about the people you meet and the opportunities you get along the way.

Sometimes it’s hard to be something you can’t see.
That’s why we’re doing this. ❤️

Way to represent the 661, ladies! 🏀🔥

And a special thank you to the young ladies from the 559 who came out to Bakersfield yesterday to compete! We appreciate you all being part of this and helping bring the Central Valley together! 🙏🏽🏀❤️
